hi everyone...
i had my first experience of spiritual healing today. i am a spiritual medium and a Reiki Master, but have never had any spiritual healing. i went to see my friend and we were just sitting chatting... i had a little bit of a hangover but nothing serious, just felt a bit "off" and asked her if she would give me some healing.
she stood behind me and placed her hands on my shoulders. i didn't really know what to expect... but the sensation was nice, i had little "sparks" going off in my head and was awareof her guideand that he had his hands on my temples. she moved her hands up to my temples after this, and carried on for a few minutes (no more than 10 mins). i felt relaxed, and a cool breeze around me. i saw white birds and was aware of other spirit people around us. i also "saw" like a column of white light coming out of (or going into?) the top of my head. the whole experience was beautiful, until it was over.
as soon as she took her hands off me, i went burning hot, and my heart began to pound and race super fast. i went dizzy, got pins and needles in my arms and hands, pain in my chest like burning and just felt terrible. i felt as though the whole room, including my friend, was twice as far away from me than they were. i looked down at my hands and it was as if they didn't belong to me. my voice sounded loud, like when you talk with your fingers in your ears! i drank some water and tried to calm down, i was shaking all over and was freezing cold, then hot, then cold.
i calmed down a bit and my other friend came to take me home. i just got worse and worse and got pains down my arms and couldn't walk, at which point i went to A and E.
they let me jump the queue and gave me oxygen, took and ECG etc etc but i knew they weren't going to find anything wrong. all the tests came back fine and the doctor couldn't find anything wrong. it felt like a panic attack (i hadsome a few years ago), but worse than i have ever had and not triggered by anything other than a lovely healing experience!
after about 2 hours i left the hospital and when i walked outside i felt this really nice sense of peace. i was calm and relaxed and everything seemed brighter. i feel quieter somehow. i don't want to smoke either which is weird.
i know that something happened today but i can't figure it out. i still don't feel normal (she did the healing at about 1pm) and to be honest, although i feel calm and relaxed, the experience has really put me off having spiritual healing again, and my friend doesn't know what to make of it!! she has been healing a long time and nothing like this has happened around her before.
can anyone shed any light on things? any input would be much appreciated. 🙂
thank you

Hi Feathers, Wow, I am sensing here that you received very deep healing, and something shifted for you and came to the surface.
How are you feeling now?

hi rosi...
i feel ok... but still a little spaced out... i'm looking at my hands while i'm typing and they look like they aren't mine!! i'm hoping that this feeling will go away by the morning and i'll be back down to earth.
i'm nervous to go to sleep though and don't want to be on my own tonight, i've asked my friend to come over when they finish work and stay over with me.
thanks for your reply... i hope it was some deep healing and i'm not just going crazy!!!

hello feather, maybe you could ask your guide about what happened, he there to look after you, sound like a spirit came in to close.

feathers, I think Rosi has hit the nail on the head. Before I read her reply to you I thought that it sounded as if you had been "out of kilter" so to speak - out of balance more than you realized and have experienced a very deep healing and balancing.
I hope you feel better in the morning!!

RE: frightening experience (long)
The transfer of healing energy is an expression of the love that the creator shows towards every single one of us at every moment of our lives. Being able to channel this energy can be of great benefit. It is an opportunity for refreshment that may not have existed were it not for healing being readily available.
The source of healing is, of course, open to many varied insights. This is somewhat muddied by the dogma wrapped around current understanding. There is but one authentic source of healing energy and that is the creator by whichever name you feel comfortable using. Access to this energy is available to any who have the courage to ask.
So, I wonder, should healing energy leave a person disturbed, uncomfortable or even in pain? Is the cause of this discomfort truly the emotional baggage of the individual? Or is it an aspect of energy that is not always clearly understood?
The effect of healing energy is to instantly remove such baggage and to fill the space left with fresh energy utterly tailored to the needs of the individual. This in turn allows the healing of the physical to take place. Should the individual then choose, at some level, to reject the offer of assistance (as is the right of every individual) then there are no after-effects.
What is referred to as baggage is simply allowed to remain in place. Would not the unconditional love that is the creator withdraw leaving the receiver as they were prior to any treatment? Would baggage be returned in such a way as to leave the receiver more distressed than before the onset of a treatment?
Healing energy is, for each individual, the very energy that created them, different and unique for each person but from one source only. Would that ultimate expression of love-without-condition truly leave an individual in distress? Tearful, yes; this is often the result of the extreme closeness of spirit. But emotionally overwrought and in such pain that a trip to hospital is required?
Why then are people affected in this way? Could it be that the energy being transferred is not that of the creator but something less?
Free will is absolute! Within that framework an individual is allowed to take control of the energies channeled. This happens all too frequently as the energy of the individual becomes involved. The reasons for this are many.
Your intention is an aspect of free will. Should you use it, you will personally be responsible for treatment taking place; equally it is your personal energy being used, although this is not what you are taught.
This is considered by many to be of little consequence and entirely acceptable. In turn, it fits with the concept that we are all one. In the eyes of the creator it is true; we are all one. But within that, the individuality of each human being is the overriding reason for the concept of free will being granted. Think of this when you try to use your free will to attempt to change the situation of any one else.
Being in control of a treatment is not considered to be detrimental to the people involved. This, again, is accepted as your choice within the eyes of the creator, as is the outcome of any such treatment.
There is more information on our website that might explain your experience. It is very much like having a direct blood transfusion without cross matching. RE: frightening experience (long)
I would suggest maybe you do some strong grounding work. Seeing your hands but feeling detached from them reminds me of when I once came out of a deep meditation too quickly, and I looked down on my legs but felt they were just flesh and bone, and I was separate. Like the body is just a vehicle for the soul. I then did another 5 mins med with some grounding visualisation and when I came out I felt connected again.
It maybe something deeper, as energyatwork suggested, but it might be work doing some grounding work anyway.
Hope you feel better soon x

hi everyone
just want to let you know that i'm feeling better now... the strange feelings lasted a couple of days and i've been pretty anxious... had to have a couple of nights off work too... but i feel ok now.
if anything the experience has made me question things so much... i've been asking "what's happening to me?" for 3 days now and it has made me look at other important areas of my life, and i have decided to make some changes.
i still feel different, but not in a bad way... just as though something has changed...
so at the end of it all i've concluded that it wasn't really such a bad thing after all. in fact, i'm actually feeling pretty good!
thank you all very much for your support 😀
lots of love

RE: frightening experience (long)
Hi Sarah,
Wow- what an experience that was! I can understand how you must feel a little wary of having some more healing, (especially as it was your first session!) but please rest assured that it is extremely unusual for this kind of thing to happen, and although the healing may have brought this experience up to the surface, it didn't create all those feelings, they were already there- and by the sounds of it, ready tocome out!
It does sound an immensely powerful thing to have gone through, and I think it's excellent that now it has released, you are feeling able to look at certain things in your life and make changes- well done you!
I hope you are feeling a little more grounded and not so 'spacey' now- it was obviously a big shock to the soul to suddenly release goodness know how many years of baggage all in one go, which may be why you felt disconnected from yourself temporarily. It sounds like healing could be really helpful for you, and it might be an idea to have a few sessions with a healer, just to help heal and clear all the residual feelings. If you feel this would be a good idea, you can always call the NFSH (National Federation Spiritual Healers) referral line, and they can give you the name of 2 healers local to you that can offer healing.
RE: frightening experience (long)
This sounds very much like a deep, deep healing I got some years ago which involved releasing karmic connections... for a few days afterwards I felt out of sorts but I knew something major had been shifted and it all settled in the end. It's a pity you didn't return to your friend so she could work through it with you... it would have been a good learning experience for you both.
Still, at least you are getting better now. Don't let it put you off healing in future - you are highly unlikely to get such a dramatic reaction again!
Blessings

RE: frightening experience (long)
Hello there 🙂
Your experiencefeels to melike a profound release of some old holding-on which maybe followed on to being out-of-kilter for a bit. I've experienced both, but not together! Quite scary and unsettling if you feel you have no control.
If your physical and subtle bodies become slightly misaligned (not dangerous but unsettling) then the "these hands aren't mine" feeling is one of the most common symptoms. Choosing mentally to incarnate within andfill your physical form, starting with the toes and working up in slow and deliberate detail, has always worked for me though of course we're all different.
The hot release, heart pounding, spontaneous deep breathing etc that accompanied this for you, sounds exactly like something that happened to me in a singing lesson last month. The room went spinning round and I had to spend half an hour on my back. I had simply succeeded in not depressing (squishing down) my larynx at the onset of a low note, but this squishing habit was apparently holding a long-standing repressive energy from years back. The moment of release was weird, but I'm so happy now that the change has settled in. It was time to let go and I'm better off for it.
I don't know if this can be of any reassurance, but I'm sure you're quite safe and I hope that you won't let this bumpy start put you off spiritual healing for ever.
Love and light
