Hi everyone,

Do you need to tell your home insurance provider if you will have clients come to your home for reiki ?

Does it effect your premium or is it just so they know ?

Thanks, Lucasia

Hi Lucasia,

If you have a therapy room in your house that you are inviting the general public into then yes, you do need to notify your insurance company for your house insurance and yes it could effect your premium, depending on the company and what they understand about what it is you are doing.

Obviously you also have to have your public liability insurance just in case anyone takes issue with your services or has an accident whilst on your property. The house insurance on the other hand is covering your property against things like theft and damage and, by having the general public coming into your property, you increase the risk. That's how the insurance company looks at it.

If you don't tell the insurance company and something happens as a result of your practicing from home, then it could invalidate your insurance and leave you paying out for the damages from your own pocket.

All Love and Reiki Hugs
