I have just done my Reiki 1 and 2 course!! I know its not much of a thread, but I want to say how amazing Reiki is and how lovely the whole course was. I can't believe how wonderful Reiki is, I can't stop talking about it... I want to know everything about Reiki now, any ideas for books?

Yeah it is fantastic isnt it!only wish i had it when i was younger!

look in new age shops for books on reiki
self healing with reiki by penelope quest.
exploring reiki by dr horan.
reiki by kajsa krishni borang.

few more i have but cant remember them!
dont worry too much about things you feel you have to do for example was alarmed when i thought i have to take cold shower every morning to get rid of negative energy but no. not necessary just sweep off the negative energy is sufficent!

Well done and enjoy.
Have a look at http://www.reiki.org/ lots of info on there. IMO William Rand is a great guy.

Hello, welcome to HP, and congratulations on your Reiki 🙂

Have a look also at the 'sticky' thread at the top of this forum, for Reiki books:

Congratulations! Hope it's going well for you...

I'd recommend The Reiki Sourcebook and The Japanese Art of Reiki, both by Frans and Bronwen Stiene.

The Reiki Sourcebook is an excellent overview, and one of my absolute favourites. I was so pleased to finally come across it after many years of finding SO much inaccurate information about Reiki in print. It's a very extensive book, and well-written...highly recommended!

The Japanese Art of Reiki is also excellent, and focuses on the practice of Reiki from a traditional Japanese perspective.

All the best to you,

Allison

Hi there and welcome to the world of Reiki!

As for a book, it all depends on how deep you want to get into it, or whether you are into other "newagey" things.

My favourite Reiki book is "The Magick of Reiki" by Christopher Pencziak, which may not be to everyone's taste but it appeals to the Wiccan in me.

I also like "Reiki and the Healing Buddha" (sorry can't remember the author's name offhand) and "The Big Book of Reiki Symbols" by Walter Lubeck et al. Both may be a bit deep but well worth the struggle.

Hope this helps

Thanksfor all the ideas! I can't wait to start reading about Reiki, I love the idea of learning the traditional Japanese techniques. I' m also interested in the more modern Western stuff too. I had better get on with my self-healing, the more I do the better, especially during my cleansing process!

you can also listen to Frans and Bromwen Stein's stuff online - they have podcasts available which are interviews with different people about reiki.
