I am about to embark on a reiki 1 course and I am so excited. I have a vague idea of what it is about but also a little aprehensive. I do not know why!
Anyway - so many people tell me it is a wonderful experience. I have had some tough moments particularly over the last 8 months and wondered how I would ever get through but i did.
My point is this........
I have bought a book on Reiki and read some points about auras and meditation - so I tried it. When i closed my eyes i just saw lots of reddy brown in colour. Then when i really concentrated i saw a purple light in the centre of the reddy brown. Did i imagine this or does it mean something?
Please help.
I do believe in this and I do reflexology - so understand about the chakras etc, and i try to tell my clients/patients to relax and to use visualisation - but what does this mean - or is it just the light in my conservatory shining in my eyes????
I tried to do it again but i could not see the beautiful colour of purple again.
I am baffled?
I have also tried to contact my guardian angel - is the light something to do with him/her or are they not connected?
Would love to hear anyones opinion.

hi there, If you read the last post I did my reiki 1 last saturday. Yes I had an upleasant experience when I was healing, but during the attunement, the feeling was truly amazing.Everyone experiences different things so It would be great to here how it was for you.

The colour purple - I get it too, but I have to be very relaxed. When I meditate I can get other colours too.
When I had my Level 1 attunement the comment I made was "that was the most amazing light show I've ever seen"! All different colours. Sometimes when I give Reiki I see coloured light balls (similar to the npower ones!). This all makes sense if you think of Reiki as energy, and light is energy too.
I met my guardian angel during my Reiki Level 1 attunement. My master did a guided meditation about meeting your guides, and I had an angel, and a Native American come through. I don't know my angel's name, nor do I want to, but I can see him/her so clearly. In fact, my psychic friend Ruth painted my angel for me, so she could see him/her too! Your guides will make their presence known. Sometimes an angel will leave you a white feather, or you feel a presence, or hear something, or smell something...
What I'm trying to say is, look forward to joining the Reiki club and enjoy the ride!
Don't try to think ab out it too much, accept what you are given and that you might "think in colours" - I've found if I try to reason about Reiki experiences I don't get as much out of it as if I let my mind do the exploring for me.
This is because everyone's Reiki experience is different and very unique!
Now not a reiki virgin!
Hi Just done my Reiki 1 - oh my word - how hot are my hands!!!
I experienced some colours and felt someone/something touch the top of my head and also my solar plexus chakra!!
I don't feel much yet - in fact do not know what to feel - until I get results - but now cannot wait until Reiki II .........so glad I have done Reiki I as it is for me and can only benefit me!

Purple is a very good healing colour - the reds and browns would be your grounding. Many people when they first open up their psychic ability start by seeing colours. As time moves on - these may develop into pictures where you will then meet your guide. Often they don't want to frighten you and so stand back until you are ready. Good luck and Namaste.
