I only joined today and I am amazed and delighted by the open and frank exchange of information and suggestion on this forum.
May I ask what people think of this new government regulation program. I undertsood we were coming together to agree how we would like Reiki to be regulated but now, from what I can gather the RRWG has been kicked off the discussion group. Is this true?
I might have missed something here but does this mean we don't have any say and they just set the rules? :confused:

Thank you for bringing this to our attention Yoshin. I looked up the RRWG website and read that they have withdrawn from the proceedings. Rather makes you wonder what the heck will happen now?

Many thanks for the Links but effectivley all these say is that Reiki is not going to regulated. My concern is that if we don't get our act together and have a united strong front we will end up being 'told' what to do by people who are nothing to do with and have no understanding of, Reiki.
We have managed to come together in such a constructive way how can they just be letting it all slip away? I really fear for the future.

I do not think that the RRWG has withdrawn from the concept of Voluntary Regulation, but that they have concerns with the Federal Approach.
Reiki regulation
I've not been online for quite some time so first off a Happy New Year to all HP'ers.
Having still heard nothing from the RRWG regarding the results of their so-called consultation I checked their website this morning only to read that they were expelled from the regulatory process meetings. While I can't disagree with many of their objections that they put forward, I do feel the Group was probably ambushed along the way, distracted by the 'prize' of acceptance by the NHS.
As for the earlier post about Reiki practitioners being told what to do, this seems likely to still be the case as the RRWG is still planning for VSR despite not yet publishing the survey/consultation results (and yet over 12 months have elapsed).
