And YES I still believe we should have a forum for psychic healing. But I am beating a dead horse (I don't know if you use that expression in the UK)

So make one. HealthyPages is its own business. The owner runs it the way that they want to. You own a business -- do you need people coming in to it and telling you how to run it? Because that's what you are doing here.

If you feel so strongly about having a psychic forum available, then create one. There are plenty of free forum providers that allow users to set up a forum discussion board at no charge.

That's kind of a pissy, fall in line, don't ask for anything, don't make suggestions, don't make waves, behave or go away.... response .

Are you really going to tell me that the forum asking if you want to suggest a new forum is a lie? Does the owner of the website need you to protect him? Is it your job to tell me off for having an idea or request.

The owner never responded to my request although he put up the thread asking if anyone wanted one. Paul moved it. I don't really care. But I still have those feelings. Am I not allowed to have those feelings?

Did he ask you to put me in my place? Or you just took it upon yourself?

All that was written here and all you can do is tell me that I am out of line for suggesting a new forum? That's all you've got?

Just thought I'd quote you for the future.

OMG, I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT!

Now I feel silly for being so upset. It's just that I don't feel like I can speak freely, without offending anyone.

Truly, I don't wish to tread on anyones beliefs. I am trying so hard to be more and be better (dispite my rant earlier).

Unfortunately as I do advance; I fit less and less. Into any category. So I go from forum to forum.

I have 2 threads I want to start now but don't know where?

1. What are the differences between channeling, remote sensing, astral travel and visions. Now it's not that I have no clue but there are people here that use these things in their healing practice that know way more than me and could clarify some of the things that I am doing and have read.

2. On being an empath. There have been several threads and posts talking about some of the problems. There are more empathic people on here than anyone realizes. It's a gift and a curse. There are numerous ways to handle it. This is different then having sympathy or empathy. It's being an emotional dish (like for satellite television); and it's a difficult gift.

Where can these things be openly discussed without offense. You can't just go into any forum and offend the regulars there just because you don't fit anywhere?

If the spiritual healers said not so possitive things about reiki on their forum? Well its their beliefs. If witches say not so possitive things about the spiritualists...well it's their forum and their beliefs.

I do my best not to be offensive and to be aware as to the flavor of a forum before I post...and give my opinion gently (if you don't think it is gentle, you would fold if you saw the first draft :rollaugh:).

I get it, there will be no psychic healing forum, I got it when Paul moved my thread. Do I want to leave and go somewhere else? No, I have made friends here. As much as a hermit does friends:027: and I learn here every day, often about myself and how I respond and interact with people. I can go back and read. I can think...hmmmm I could have handled that differently.

Of course you are forgiven and it is past. I'm sorry I took a bite (or several) out of you.

The Whole Point...

I thought that the whole point of a forum was to create a place where everyone and everything had an 'equal' opportunity? We hear that phrase a lot these days don't we 'we are an equal opportunity company/provider' etc...

I am new to this forum, I have no idea who management is, what their views are and such like, but I would hope, seeing as the name of the site suggests that this is a website for 'alternative' ways, which usually equals 'the freedom to make different choices' that they don't impose in a God-like fashion their own personal opinions when deciding upon what is acceptable and what is not.

Otherwise, what is the point of a forum? If one has no place to freely express one's views? Do we live in a free community or one in which we have to conform?

Should people be 'banned' simply for expressing their views - does a fair Government do that? No, each member has a voice and then the people choose who to elect and who to follow. Anything other than that is a dictatorship isn't it?

I agree that personal digs and comments should not be allowed, that is a different matter.

Just a thought? Also are any guidelines available on this forum regarding what one is and isn't allowed to be, say or feel? Mmmm...?

Hi Innana,

Yes, there are guidelines here:

https://www.healthypages.co.uk/forum/guidelines-rules/1795-discussion-forum-guidelines-commercial-posting-rules.html#post13516

And no, the forum is not overseen by some godlike person who only allows what they believe to be true etc. There is the admin team who have created the site and have provided the forum as a free place to discuss things, and have tried to create categories of sub-forums to encompass most of the complementary and natural practices they can think of, plus a few others (such as scientific matters and current affairs etc.) The point being made to Stephanie wasn't that she couldn't talk about psychic healing, but that there were already forums that would suit such a discussion, so there's no need to create yet another forum specifically for it (and we do sometimes get new members joining up and saying they have trouble finding things because there are so many forums). Yes, the admin could set up a specific forum for each specific therapy or practice, but then we'd end up with a forum for Usui Reiki, a forum for Rainbow Reiki, a forum for each of the other 200+ forms of reiki or reiki like things, and then a forum for each specific religion, a forum for each specific other therapy etc. and not only would most of those forums be very inactive, we'd get people coming along who've created their own 'style' of therapy and want a forum specifically for that too. There really would be too many forums, and that's one of the reasons the admin tried to generalize the categories.... less is more so they say. 😉

As moderators of the forums, we'll look at the requests people make and can discuss it with admin to create a new forum or sub forum if we recognise there's a growing need for something to be separate from the existing forums. This happened with things like the Current Affairs forum where people wanting to talk about what was going on in the news etc. but the rule at the time was that it wasn't permitted because it wasn't complementary/natural healing etc. so the rules were changed and a forum specifically created where people could talk about that stuff, without interfering with the other forums.

Hope that helps explain it.

All Love and Reiki Hugs

I think most people can post their opinion, it is a controversial subject though...everyone has their own thoughts.

I used to love Reiki, but I feel there is so much more to learn than just that. But I think all of the tools can be incorporated when you are doing a healing
