Hi,

Can anyone give any advice on how to start seeing aura's or let me know of any good books

I read that you should focus on something looking at it's outline with a soft focus and that with practice you should starting seeing its aura outline. I've been doing this for a while, mainly on plants or trees but I've not had anything yet & certainly no colours :(. Now I'm not really a very visual person so I'm not if this is adding to it.

I'd really love to start seeing something so any advice really welcome.

Many thanks,
Curious

Don't worry if you don't see auras, or if you don't see wizzy colours round everyone - not everyone who "sees" auras does.

A good place to start and try and look is the shoulder area, the angle between the shoulder and neck. You may see a lighter area there.

I see you do Reiki. You may not see auras, but you may well become able to feel them or feel differences in them. To try and feel an aura, put your hands about 9 inches from the body and start moving your hand backwards and forwards. If you can feel something like a balloon, you are feeling the aura.

You may not be able to see the aura with your eyes! Sometimes I'm conscious of seeing something with another receptor - maybe my third eye? It's not in my normal field of vision, but slightly above it.

Hope this helps

Some people don't see but perceeve auras. A good excercise which I do with my students is to have them look at another person and go into soft focus or peripheral vision. Then close your eyes and imagine the person infront of you what imagine what the colours would look like. Have an outline of a body on a plain bit of paper and a box of coloured pencils, then colour the body as you would imagine the aura to look. There is no right or wrong as this is how you perceeve it (? spelling). You can then take this a step further by interpreting the colours you perceeve and how the other person is feeling etc.

Hi Curious

The good news is that if you trust what you are seeing you will find it really easy to see a 'Readybreak' silver arua round anyone or anything, the bad news is that it is rare (in my experience) to see colours and stuff but very exciting when you do.

The book below is really good

Trees and plants are good to practice on as they don't mind beingstared at and trees have massive auras, I've found bamboo auras are really easy to see also.

have fun

I posted this yesterday but it has gone away. . .

What is the purpose of seeing an aura? Why do you want to do this?

And also, if it is possible to learn to see an aura in "only 60 seconds" why would you need a book? 😉

personal choice I expect.....if seeing auras is someones bag then good for them:)
If they think reading a book will help them either see an aura or understand the visions (to be only as a rough guide IMHO) then likewise...good for them:D

That's rather patronizing, Amy. I understand that if they want to, they want to.

My question is why?
What is the purpose of seeing an aura?
And if you see an aura, what do you do then and why would you do it?

It's purley your choice to take my post as patronizing...I can't help but wonder why you'd choose to take it that way....but then thats entirey up to you I supose;)

I have to say I thought it was quite patronizing as was your reply - I know things can easily be taken the wrong way on forums but as you're a moderator I'd have expected more care.

what...you mean as 'a moderator' I no longer have the right to speak as I choose...behave....helping out on a forum does not lessen me as a person who has her own opinion.....so it's your choice also to view my words as partronizing....personal choice is ace don't you think...or is that patronizing too??:)

Hi all

I work in a court so spend alot of time staring into space in a room with loads of people in it and have for years been seeing balls of light around people and sometimes colours and just assumed it was something to do with the lighting in court.

A chance chat with a colleague led me to discover that no one else had ever seen balls of light around anyone - I thought wow so what am I seeing and as is my way went and bought a book on the subject. Having read it I now know what I'm seeing !

Personal choice is absolutely a wonderful thing and of course you are free to have your own opinion. My point is that moderators normally lead by example and therefore dismissing someone else's opinion so lightly is not a particularly good example.....but then...as you say it's my choice and anyone else's to see it that way. You do come across as a little antagonistic - smiley faces do not cancel out your words.

Can anyone give any advice on how to start seeing aura's

I have found from experience that as Reiki students use Reiki to self-heal on a regular basis, any latent psychic gifts they have will develop naturally. The more they self-heal the faster their gifts develop. If seeing auras is part of your path, you will naturally develop the ability to see auras. I think one of the great things about Reiki is the spiritual development that comes with self-healing. Rather than look for new abilities, I teach my students to self-heal and to allow themselves to develop and grow in a natural and organic way. In this way every day feels like a gift and every new level of ability is reached at the right time for each individual.
