hi all,
I've been looking at all the different Reiki organisations there are, as I was thinking of joining one, but have got quite confused with it all. Are any better than others? The costs are also confusing especially when they start going on about tracing lineage and verifying course content to NOS and the prices soon start adding up. I am self employed doing indian head massage, oriental face massage, ear candling and Reiki. I would find it hard to pay for it all. So I was wondering if it's worth doing and also if anyone has had dealings with any of them and recommend any?
Hope that all makes sense, I'm new to this.
Thanks
Becci

Hi,

I belong to the Reiki Guild and get my insurance through them from Balens. I find belonging to a Reiki association gives clients more confidence in me as it shows a level of professionalism and commitment. Also it gives clients an avenue for complaints should they have any.

The lineage verification, course content verification and NOS registration is not something you need to do in order to join a Reiki association, this is only if you want to register with the CNHC. Registering with the CNHC shows clients that you have been verified as complying with the NOS for Reiki. Again, this is something that demonstrates your level of professionalism and commitment to clients.

I think for you it is more difficult because you do multiple therapies so would need to join multiple associations I would imagine.

I belong to the UK reiki federation and ALSO get my insurance through Balens. They offer a block deal to federation members and I can add other therapies on for minimal cost.

I'm a member of the Spiritual Workers Association, I get discounted insurance through them and they cater for several therapies so it may be one to look at. Insurance is fairly cheap and cover to a decent value.

Thanks all for your help everyone :). I think i'll have a closer look at all of these and see about joining one, then when i can afford it sort out getting my bits verified. I already have insurance which covers me for Reiki and my other therapies, so that's not a problem. x
