Hi there

Just wondered what sort of routine other Reflexologists do for a short or taster session. I'm thinking of a session lasting around half an hour, suitable for use in the workplace where the client has to return to work afterwards. What do you feel should be included and what may be left out that might normally be done in a full hour treatment.
I have a few shorter routines that I use in the workplace and just thought it would be interesting to compare.
Thanks
J

I tend to ask the client if there is any area where they would like me to concentrate on. if not I do a lot of relaxation, spine, solar plexus and general massage and then end with a stimulating routine so they end up awake when they leave. The stimulating routine involves masage, rocking and pumping of the feet and ankles, lots of heel work and then, supporting the top of the foot and massaging the base of the foot with the heel of the hand, this is often a pleasureable movement but allows the circulation to flow to wake them at the end. I do tend to include the endocrine system each time as this covers a lot of conditions and can be done in a relatively short space of time. The digestive system, urinary and lymphatic ,ie all the elimination systems would also be areas to include.

The other option is to do a normal routine but instaed of working each point several times, when i trained with ITEC i was taught to work each area three times, just do it the once, this will reduce your time tremendously and allow the client a taster which is what yopu want. I have done a lot of taster sessions and do tend to do the first paragraph.
It is a taster session so go with the flow just remember to wake the client with some movements to get the circulation going before they have to drive home.

Good luck with it all.
