Hi All,

Any ideas/explanations welcome! Not long qualified so am a bit unsure of why certain reflexes show so frequently with no obvious reason. For instance, I am treating a 59 year old lady for insomnia and generally high stress levels (high-powered job).
We are doing well and her sleep pattern is improving. However, her sinuses feel extremely gritty - almost knobbly - from second to fifth toe, on each foot slightly worse on right. She says she doesn't suffer from sinus congestion and does not even get colds very often. She is on her eighth treatment, and these reflexes haven't changed.
I feel I 'should' have an explanation for this, but am a bit puzzled. Probably missing something obvious!

Hi ya Always Trying

Who is to say that the toes are always to do with the sinuses? The toes represent the head area, and there so much going on up there (in the ol' command centre up top)! Also consider that zone/meridian/nadi etc energy lines (whatever) start and terminate at the feet and toes, therefore could be a sign of various imbalances though out the body.

After 10 years of practising reflexology, I have come to the conclusion that reflex. isn't a particularly good diagnostic system. I know there will be practitioners quoting all kinds of antedotal evidence. Lovely, but can you all repeat this under in a clinical trail?!

I think the more important aspect of the treatment you mention is that the client sleeps better. Considering insomnia is a really common, treating the whole person and generating sympathetic resonance with your clinic is far more important.

Best Wishes

re. puzzling toes

Thanks for your reply Reiki Pixie, I had a feeling it may be to do with what is going on in the head area, but just needed a push to say this to her with confidence. Her job involves many, many meetings and a lot of talking, plus two long drives every day. If I had her job I would def. have insomnia!
I take the point about the toes marking the zones also, and will remember this for future clients.

Your help much appreciated
