How can you tell what a client's potassium levels are during Reflexology?

RE: Potassium levels

Is it pertinent to the treatment then?!!!![&:] I certainly don't know. Why do you need to?

RE: Potassium levels

Hiya.........hope you are well

I didn't want to put all the info on here as you never know who is watching 🙂

Basically a Reflexologist I know said that she had treated a client and she could tell by his kidneys that his potassium levels were low and she had re-balanced them. She also said that she could tell by the heart that his blood pressure was fine.

As a Reflexologist myself I felt quite inadequate as I wouldn't know how to tell. What do you think?

Well Yasmin, I look forward to the day when I can tell those things. I'm sure you are doing absolutely brilliantly however, so chin up girl! 🙂

RE: Potassium levels

Mmmmmmmm, I don't know either. Like Candie, I wonder why you would want to know this.

Smacks a little of the forbidden 'giving a diagnosis' methinks - by her - not you!
Would be pretty dangerous ground to tell a client their BP was ok.

Carry on as you are Yasmin, if you care enough to even ask about things like this I'm sure you're a very good therapist. 🙂

edited for clarity

RE: Potassium levels

Thank you for your replies Siobhan and Clarity.......most useful. You are right about the diagnosis bit. I was baffled by the whole thing as the lady in question is the nicest, sweetest person you could ever wish to meet.........definitely not someone you would have thought to be on an ego trip.

I shall certainly look forward to asking her some questions next time I see her.

RE: Potassium levels

Hiya
Just a point whilst I ponder the original question, if a clients potassium levels were low you could not rebalance them without ensuring the client is taking in and absorbing the potassium adequately, ie not only would she have to know they were low but also that there was sufficient in the body so that it could be utilised.....

smacks of being given bad information at training if you ask me...

just for interest, general indicators that may suggest low potassium but as it states you would be in serious trouble....

RE: Potassium levels

It is certainly an interesting site which might be useful. I will have a better look around it later on this evening and decide. How did you find that information without registering?
