Hello everyone. Hope all is going well. I am in need of a bit of advise. I am newly qualified reflexologist. With everything else going on in life, I have managed to start securing clients.

I have a client suffering from hypothyroidism. is on medication. After going through with her a full consultation, nothing major was noted. Main complain was feeling tired mostly. I asked her to keep a note of any changes in the next 24 hours and let me know. I booked another appointment for the next week.

after two days I phoned to find out how she was doing. And what a surprise. She had falled so ill that she had to call her mum down to help!
She complained of severe backpain and stomach pain.

I decided to let her overcome these symptoms before I performed another treatment on her so I let her rest for another week.

I have managed to do her another 5 treatments on weekly basis. She has now settled down with her symptoms but still feels no change in her tiredness. It has also been discovered that she has gall stones.

Can anyone advise on treatment plan change to bring about energy and actually how long she may take to feel this?

Thanks

Bats

Hi Bats,
Whats this persons diet like? Thats always a good place to start....Also your client may need to make sure their current thyroxine dosage is correct.

I've found, when treating clients on thyroid medication, that the only time I notice any imbalances which would indicate the thyroid is when their medication is wrong, or when the doses are being sorted out. When the medication is correct, and is being taken properly, there's no imbalance, which is as it should be.

If she also has gallstones, a low fat diet would be the best place for her to start, so I agree with Rachel. Take a look at her diet. Perhaps get her to keep a food diary for a week and go through it with her. I started getting gallbladder pain some years ago. I stuck to a diet where everything I ate had less than 5% fat (which means you can eat loads of things you wouldn't expect on a diet, just in moderation), lost a stone in 8 weeks and the pains disappeared.

Hope that helps.

Sounds like your treatment helped the body to start dealing with the gallstones. A hypo- thyroid condition with a sluggish metabolism may often be a factor.

Tiredness is often due to a build up of toxins in the system. I usually ensure that I cover all the elimination channels thoroughly ie. lungs, liver, kidneys, colon, lymphs- make sure she is drinking plenty of water.:)

It can also be due to stress - she may have mentioned something during her consultation, so the endocrine system may be out of balance - adrenals especially.

If you are seeing this lady weekly then I would have hoped that you would be seeing some positive change by now. (It can be part of the healing process that things become worse before they improve.) Is she expecting you to do all the work or is she taking responsibility for her problems too?

I incorporate Energy healing into these sessions too- this usually helps to focus on unresolved issues which need sorting.

Thanks to you all for your advise. It does make sense now. Yes I must say that the client is not steadfast in her water intake. She is obese but she says she does not eat much fats. I think getting her to keep a diary for the week will give me more information as to where she is going wrong.

I shall suggest to her to get into the less than 5% fat diet. Not sure if it will be heeded.

I have also suggested her to have another blood test done to check her thyroid level, but apparently she had it done a few months ago and it was reported that she is on correct medication.

Can the reflexology treatment change thyroid levels?

Thankyou again.
