I have a new client scheduled this week. She was in a car accident and received a concussion. Her symptoms sound like Traumatic Brain Syndrome. Also, the doctor says her brain has shrunk below normal for her age (about 66 years old).
I am going to reflex the brain, pituitary and spine. Has anyone had any experience with this and/or helpful suggestions? Thanks!
Hi,
Going just from my own concussion experience, your client may be sensitive to light and noise, and may have balance problems as well as nausea. It might help to keep the room dim, noise minimal, and help treat any alignment/balance type issues. I'm not a reflexologist but did have a concussion and developed post concussion syndrome. I found that a shiatsu treatment helped me later on but it all had to be very gentle 🙂
Not from reflexology point of view- but would like to share a common home remedy for internal injury in India is a level teaspoon of turmeric and ginger boiled in milk. It should be taken for a few weeks.
Ginger is anti inflammatory. Sometimes ginger can be disagreeable in warm weather, in that case skip ginger and just stay with turmeric and milk.
Helping the client maintain positive mental outlook apart from treatment will also boost recovery
hope it helps
Thanks to you both. I'll incorporate these suggestions.
