Have any of you done the Anthony Porter ART Course? I am very curious as it seems to be a different technique to the normal thumbwalking.

RE: ADVANCED REFLEXOLOGY TECHNIQUE

I haven't done the course but I've seen some of the techniques Anthony uses - my tutor had done the course. The techniques are very different from thumb walking and apparently are very effective.

RE: ADVANCED REFLEXOLOGY TECHNIQUE

I can't remember them. My tutor showed them to us early on in our training so it was quite a while ago. I know that one of them involved the therapist standing up.

Love

RE: ADVANCED REFLEXOLOGY TECHNIQUE

I am enrolled on an Advanced reflexology technique course in September. Am already qualified thru AOR and my tutor for that course is taking the advanced course.
We touched on the advanced stuff in the last course and it is very powerful stuff!!
There is a 'potato peeling' technique and a 'key' technique, from what I can remember. There is also a holding technique that is used if the client is feeling pain in a reflex. If pain is felt, the therapist keeps applying more pressure until the pain goes! We were guinea pigs on each otherand I found it painful, especially in the pelvic region, ovaries/uterus!

There is a 'potato peeling' technique

Would love to hear more of that!

I sometimes get an intense pain in my thumb or finger when I hold a specific reflex. I also get 'fizzing' especially when on the kidneys.[&:]

RE: ADVANCED REFLEXOLOGY TECHNIQUE

🙂 The 'potato peeling' technique can be used for the reflexes under the diaphragm down to the pelvic line. It can be used instead of cross-hatching. Wish I could explain the technique a bit better! Imagine you are holding the right foot with your left hand, using the thumb and index finger of your right hand apply pressure in the style of peeling a potatoe! [sm=scratchchin.gif]
I know its sounds bizarre but I,m no good at explaining [sm=cat.gif]

RE: ADVANCED REFLEXOLOGY TECHNIQUE

Bless you for trying. But sadly I just don't get it![&:] Have tried all combinations in my mind involving fingers and potato peelers, but alas, am still at a loss!:(
