A recommended osteopath told me recently, that he found the reason why so many men are a bit crooked, asymetrical, their spines turned to the right. Their wallets are in their right back pocket, so all their lives they have turned that way ....
I wonder what effect it has on their personalities?

I keep my wallet in my front pockets, either left or right depending on whether I'm wearing my work clothes or jeans (not sure why it differs, but it does).

Of course us women carry handbags all the time. On our right shoulder? Except for me: I've wisely stuck to rucksacks.

Most small rucksacks are not particularly wonderful, either. Ones designed for carrying for a longish while are big enough to distribute the weight over shoulders and hips.
