I have been reading about natural remedies and herbal cures etc.
I want to recommend sarsaparilla to my dad who suffers with psoriasis. He's tried everything from olive oil to slippery elm. I don't want him to take any prescribed steroids from the doc, and neither does he. He's very interested in natural therapies.

Has anyone ever used sarsaparilla before and was it effective?

RE: Psoriasis

Here's the blend of essential oils I would use for psoiasis
2drops Patchouli
2drops Roman Chamomile
2drops Lavender
1drop Melaleuca, 1drop Rosemary, 1 drop Clove

Use this blend 2-4drops twice a day on the affected areas NEAT (but only if using Therapeutic grade oils (should have an ISO number on the label) eg from suppliers such as Young Living) or 6-10drops in a regular skin lotion applied daily or as needed.

Hi Emma,

Has your dad tried Dead Sea Salts? I've not had any experience myself, but have heard good reports from folk using this. I think you have to bath often, in quite a lot of salts, butapparently itworks.

RE: Psoriasis

Sarsparilla is used in homoeopathic form in the treatment of psoriasis for sure - but it's not THE remedy for psoriasis. You need to find the remedy that matches to your dad with his psoriasis - ie, you treat the person & not the disease. There are an awful lot of remedies that spring to mind but it's best to seek a professional homoeopath. I don't treat my family at all (I'm a registered homoeopath) as I'm too close to see what I need to see - I can't be that objective, so I suggest contacting The Society of Homeopaths who can tell you who your local practitioner is. Good luck.

RE: Psoriasis

I totally agree, natural remedy is so much more preferred for psoriasis. The most expensive treatment hasn't help me at all.

RE: Psoriasis

sometimes psoriasis is a sign that the body is trying to get rid of something through the skin. This could be because:

1. exposure to a toxin is so high that the body can't cope
2. person is allergic to something and body doesn't quite know what to do with it so excretes it via the skin causing mayhm on the way
3. Liver etc. not functioning properly so not able to deal with normal load

When i was working as a therapist, I often found this was down to a reaction to crude oil in some form - mechanics etc. seem to get it.

A health kinesiologist [link= http://www.hk4health.co.uk ]http://www.hk4health.co.uk[/link] ought to be able to help put this right if that's the case

best wishes

Jane

RE: Psoriasis

Hi emma,
I've had psoriasis for 22 years now and along the road have tried a variety of complementary approaches with varying degrees of success. One of them was a spell on sarsparilla and it was some special tablets with other herbs in too from south america. Six months later by bank balance was not so great and my skin was exactly the same as it had been before. I didn't consult anyone about what I was taking so maybe the mix just wasn't right for me but as others have recommended here, it's probably worth seeing a herbalist or someone to try and find out what will suit your dad as it could save him money and time. I hope he (and you) find something to help his skin.
Best of luck,
Lily

I am surprised that no one has mentioned essential glyconutrient's, 8 carbohydrates (Glucose, Mannose, galactose, Fucose, N-acetylgalactosamine, N-acetylglucosamine, N-acetylneuraminic acid and Xylose) My husband takes glyco essentials by a company Nature's Sunshine. he hardly has any signs of hispsoriasis now.
Sun exposure and phosphorus (in oatmeal) have also helped him.

My nephew had very bad psoriasis as a child. The doctors told my sister that there was nothing they could do. She put him on lecithin-that was 28 YEARS AGO !!! He still takes it and has NEVER had another outbreak since that time. She and I just talked about this again yesterday. There just might be something to this natural approach to healing that so many are afraid to try............even for people with cancer, like me !!

I've not used that, but another completely natural thing that works is a bath. Obviously it's not as simple as that. With the chemicals they put into our water supply like chlorine to name one of many, it's no surprise more people are getting bad skin. A surprising fact is that the body absorbs 600% more chlorine in a hot 10 min shower than if you were drinking the same water all day!.
Wellness Water Filters are amazing filters that not only remove bad things from the water, they also enhance the water. It makes the water naturally ionizes, giving it an anti-oxidant effect, increases skin hydration by 115% (making it the one and only anti-aging shower which is amazing in itself!!) and adds minerals from rare volcanic rocks.
The water also aids the body in repairing physical damage (scarring etc). The filters are used in Japanese hospitals, medical spas and burns unit, with amazing results. They are also used exclusively in the world's number 1 health spa.
My sister has had bad legs for 3 years now. We tried moving (our house was under electricity cables), we tried glyconutrients externally which did help and now we are trying the shower filter with amazing results. The extreme itching has calmed down meaning the skin can now start to heal the scars. If you have any questions, let me know.

Have you tried burdock root?, a blood purifier that removes toxins from the blood, good feedback are found after using this supplement.

As long as you dont have high blood pressure, you will be fine to take this.
