My 14 year old daughter has a middle ear infection which is causing vertigo. The problem started mid September with her feeling sick and dizzy she also developed small spots around her eyes (it looked like someone had got a red ballpoint pen and dotted all around her eyes). We took her to the hospital, and after several blood tests, the doctors had no idea what was causing the problem and kept her in hospital, gave her antibiotics intravenously, then sent her home with tablets to help with the nausea. Since then she has been blacking out and vomitting. Her own doctor referred her to another hospital who have diagnosed vertigo caused by a middle ear infection. They tell me that even with the antibiotics this may take weeks to clear up.
Does anyone know of a natural remedy that might help her.
I look forward to any help that you may be able to give me.

RE: Middle ear infection/Vertigo
This sounds very distressing Lesley. I do not know of any specific treatment for this.
Hopi candles might help as they can be used for middle or inner ear problems.
so long as the ear drum is intact and there is nothing like grommets etc in place.they might offer some relief from symptoms while the antibiotics get to work.
Essential oils for this would be Lavender and Chamomile (together or singly better together) in a hot compress over the ear area
Other action would be Garlic capsules, steam inhalations and also look at the diet. reduce diary products as they are mucus forming and won't help the condition.
Reiki might also be a good treatment to try as it works with the bodies own energy to fight infections etc - and might also be calming if your daugther is upset by all this.
I hope she feels better soon

Hi Janey
Thanks for the advice. I will try to find someone who practices Reiki.

RE: Middle ear infection/Vertigo
I certainly would suggest being treated by a qualified thermo-auricular therapist with ear candles, but also I suggest that you use PLANTAGO from the Bioforce range, maybe also a combination with echinacea, these are tinctures so do not taste nasty, I have had great help with all the remedies for my clients so an investigation into the BIOFORCE products would be to you advantage. they also do a very good course that is a home study!

hopi ear candles ( thermo Auricular Therapy ) is fantastic for vertigo but not whilst infection is present.
