Dear all,
I need to get your advice.I am C.I.B.T.A.C qualfied beauty therapist but also I have been practising a massage for the last 7 years.I finished physiotherapy in Poland so I am registered with CTHA which allows me to practice a massage in Uk.
I have decided recently I would like to become a massage teacher so I am very interested in teaching courses.
Could you tell me please where I can apply for teaching course in massage as I would like to start as soon as possible.
I really appreciate any advice you give me
Thank you
Fenia:)
Do you want to teach a course you developed or do you want to teach a course at a school that the school developed? Teaching a course developed by a school often menas you need to have done the course at the school originally. Past students (and soemtimes even current students!!) are often the first ones to hear of an openeing.
If it is a course you developed, have you actally written the course materials already? Have you had the materials proof read by a professional? Where english is a second language, editting by a proffessional is important.
Good luck!
I would like to teach a course at school that the school developed.I was wondering where are the places in london who prepare you to become a massage teacher?
Hi F
It all depends on the school and exam board that it being used. In most situations you will need to have or working towards a teaching/training qualification.
Working towards means enrolling on a lifelong learning teaching course that allows you to teach in post 16/adult/further education sector. This may or may not be necessary in private colleges unless it's their policy to have a teaching qualification and/or the exam board demands it.
This may be of help to you: [DLMURL] http://www.cityandguilds.com/38054.html#I_am_just_starting_out [/DLMURL]

Dear all who may know!
Im currently working in a school as a sports therapist, and have been mulling over the idea of setting up a sports massage training service. It would mainly be for 6th formers. Like the person who posted this originally, I would like to deliver the course, but I have no idea who would validate it etc.
I was thinking along the lines of the Sports Massage Association as they have tutor gradings etc.
Any ideas from anyone?
Thanks in advance

you may encounter problems as your target group is under 18, but I could be wrong
That was my one concern. I will hopefully find out some more information in the coming days and see. I had a look at the teacher and assessor things and I think id have to go through them.
Has anybody been through them? Costs? Easy/hard?
Under 18's may be an issue (check with the requirements on NDAQ / RRQ)
You will also need a qualified IV
To teach a course you need to contact the awarding body who accredit the qualification you wish to teach for the exact requirements (each qual differs)
If you PM me with the subject matter you wish to teach I will give you all the info you need for my particular Awarding Body (providing we have a qualification for the subject you wish to teach)
I write their qualifications and am involved th the quality management (EV) for them
Best to PM because I don't want to risk breaching any forum rules by 'advertising' a particular organisation publically
