I do a therapy swap with a friend so am lucky enough to have a treatment every week. We do actually pay for the treatments but it's been the same money going back and forth for the last 11 years (we just have to increase it every so often!).

Get yourself booked in somewhere :).

This year? I can't remember the last time I had a massage. Oh, yes, I can - it was a very painful but effective sports massage after I'd finished the London Marathon last April. But before that? Dunno (and that's why I've put a swap request in the appropriate section here!)

I try and get a massage at least once a week and see it as an essential part of my self development.

However, I believe it to be equally essential for massage therapists to develop a peer support group. It's far too easy for a self employed therapist to be come isolated.

It's also important to develop our skills, and it's not a good idea to be trying them out on new clients. So a peer group is a great place to set up an exchange.

I once heard of a hot Stone therapist who had never received a hot Stone massage. 😀

Yep, massaged therapists. They like it. Haven't swapped, yet.

Good advice .

I had a fabulous hot stone massage yesterday! It was the first time I've ever tried it and I totally loved it!! My therapist really knew what she was doing (which was great) and she spent a good long time trying to work out the masses of knots in my neck and shoulders (I feel slightly bruised to touch now, but it was sooooo worth it).

That's the first massage I've had since late last year though (even though I keep promising myself I will get one much more often).

It's funny how we care so much about how out clients feel - and we advise them to take better care of themselves. And then we neglect our own bodies, even when they are crying out for some TLC!

x

Yesterday afternoon (thankyou OH!)

I did a 2 hr Zumbathon last Sunday and although I do exercise a lot my shoulders aren't used to the "Indian" style arms so they were quite tight. Brilliant fun though :).

I think it means, 'so jealous!' We used to use italics and punctuation to emphasize words; now we just add a few more letters - or miss some out!

God, I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooo old!!

hope you've had a massage by now!! I make sure I get a massage regular, more than once a week - even if its just 20 minutes on one area like my neck
