Hi there
Has anyone attended any of the above colleges on a part time massage course? It's difficult to know if the courses are any good, as I have heard people complain too many students in the classes. My other option would be to go to a private clinic but that's serious money!

RE: Fareham, Chichester or Southdowns massage course
Hi Deb
I have done courses at both Southdowns and Fareham. Both had their good and bad points. I had some excellent tutors but in my reflex class at Fareham they definitely overbooked the group and seriously stressed the tutor out. The biggest problem I think is the admin side of things. The co-ordination doesnt seem great and whilst most of the tutors do as good a job as possible, it isnt easy for them.
I did enjoy my courses and feel the quality of the courses were fine but I cannot compare them to private courses as I havent attended any apart from a weekend workshop run by Darien Pritchard called 'Hands Free Massage' in Bournemouth (there were six of us in his group). I think there is a fairly rapid turnover of tutors in the local colleges so I dont know who is teaching at present.
I know my comments probably havent helped a great deal, but if you are prepared to put the work in on a course and use the resources available to you, then you should do just fine.
Good luck.
