I was wondering (again) if there is a crystal that would help put the ooomph back into mainly my partner wanting to do odd jobs around the house. To cut a long story short (hopefully) my partner has lost most of his sparkle since his Mum died 2 years ago this month. He shut his own business down and stayed at home living off his savings for a whole year and just doesn't seem to want to socialise anymore. He has started up another business thankfully but has decided that he just doesn't want to do anything to the house. Poor house!! Little things (ok so quite big) like our bedroom desperately needs rewallpapering as the paper is hanging off in places and is damp. The bathroom has a damp wall. Blah blah the list goes on.
I just wondered if there is perhaps a crystal(s) that could uplift and maybe reenergise the atmosphere of the house and occupants into feeling a little brighter?
Thank you so much x x
I'm sorry to hear about your partners troubles. I'm afraid i can't help with the crystals but
Maybe you could do the work together? Or just do it yourself? helping you might be more of a motivation that him having to do it himself?
Perhaps it would be beneficial to look towards Feng Shui rather than a crystal. Feng Shui principles can help the relationship between the environment and the occupants. I think it might be helpful to have a declutter as much as possible then perhaps start on the South / Fame /reputation area (which is also for self esteem IMO), and then the Health area. HTH. 🙂
Decluttering would be a great help I agree but he waits till the 'Magic Cleaning Up Fairy' does that on her own though I have started being a little tougher with him as I feel that it is time he started slowly dealing with the 'joys' of owning a house.
I was always a little worried that he would feel 'nagged' and get more depressed. But it doesn't help to have the weight of it on my shoulders all the time either.
I will look into the Feng Shui as I must admit I have a couple of books on it - though I will have to invest in a compass as I mislaid it years ago - whoops!!
I feel that 2009 is the year for small changes and will hopefully bring a brighter future.
Thanks for your comments 🙂
You don't necessarily need a compass. If you can work out where the sun is at noon, then that's direct South :), you an work out the other directions from that??
Thanks Fleur - that helps a lot 🙂
maybe off the wall (excuse the pun hehe) with this suggestion but how about you start peeling off the wallpaper yourself when he's around and his manly instincts might kick in when he sees you not doing it as well as him!!!
Star_dust..that reminds me of...
Many years ago I knew a girl who was married to a painter and decorator by trade. Would he do any painting for her?? Would he 'eck. 😉 So she got his very best varnishing brushes (deliberately!), to use them for painting the doors etc herself.....as I recall, he soon had the job in hand himself
LOL we all have a bit of that in us I think ...... when someone knows they're good at something, they can't stand back and let someone else do a shoddy job in front of them!!! 🙂

I kinda did that in the bathroom and 3 years later it still
has bare walls. A lesson learnt.
He even came home while I was in the process of cutting up the carpet in the kitchen - My excuse was that the lodger had walked dog poo all over it (true), it was old and needed replacing. I have a lovely kitchen floor now 🙂
Best not take the wallpaper off but I could help it fall down quicker without him thinking it was me. I feel so mischievous :p
hmmm I'm all out of suggestions so. you'll just have to say 'honey I hate to say it but you need to get your a$$ in gear and kickstart yourself into action'
My first husband, and my father, were both known as "the drip that won't paint" by mother's family (that's a joke, only familiar to those aged ones who remember the paint that won't drip!).
Firstly, is your husband depressed? Does he have thyroid problems? It sounds like there may be a physical problem underlying this.
Secondly, you could do the old trick of having a "painting party", whereby you invite your friends round to, say, blitz the bathroom and lay on a party for the evening when hopefully everything's finished. A bit sort of "Challenge Annika" if you remember that!
Another trick is to invite the local college to send the students round to practise... only works if you've got a college that teaches painting and decorating!
If all else fails, grab a paintbrush and DiY!
Is there a crystal that might help? What about citrine? or sunstone? Dumortierite?
very true and burning some geranium oil is good for lifting the spirits
Going to Leeds to 'Tribal Crystals' so will have a look round and see if anything inspires me and purchase some Geranium oil too. Will also have a go at reiki-ing the house this weekend for the first time too.
Thank you all 🙂
Rose quartz, amethyst, citrine to lift spirits and calm. calcite for first aid calming.
Thankfully these are all quite cheap so maybe putting them round the house in bowls might help?
