An unusual "crystal" Moldavite! Apparently it's one of the most expensive crystals due to it's rarity, having been created by a meteorite hitting the earth aeons ago. My piece is mid geen in colour, shape of a pyramid tea bag and had it for about 4 years. It's one in my kit that frequently disappears then turns up again. But when it’s active, it can help us with so much!!!

I often find that how a crystal has formed, can give us a clue to its healing powers. Moldavite has been created by a meteorite hitting the earth....it's gifts can impact on us and leave a lasting impression we need to be able to handle. Transformation and elevation onto a higher spiritual level can involve releasing emotional, mental, and physical debris we have clung onto for too long. It can cleanse the chakra and meridians In the twinkle of an eye. So hold onto your hats, strap yourself in……., you could come through it as a more enlightened person.

It’s energies can also be likened to the Star in the Tarot pack. The Star follows the Tower, I feel it can be an aid after someone has gone through devastation, or unexpected pain such as sudden bereavement or aftermath of natural disasters. Restoring hope and trust in the future.

If you have had a problem and tried every avenue…..Moldavite can bring you a solution from an unexpected source.
Coming from the stars, it can be an ally of the astrologer, or helps the connection for mediums or otherworldly lightworkers. For those who just do not know what their life’s work is and at a loose end…….it can light up the right pathway for you, and is this star from the heavens, and your own star within one and the same after all???

Lets not forget cosmic ordering…….what better crystal to reach into the cosmos and bring about your hearts desire……..but be very careful what you ask for when you wish upon this star….it can act very fast.

Hi Fleur,

I am now on a search for this wonderful crystal. Do you know where I can get it from?

I am glad you have picked up on this Laura.....I was hoping our recently bereaved members would, I really beleive this crystal can help. :1kis:

If you google you will find a few reputable suppliers...be aware of the price though...

some that seem very cheap may be glass substitutes 🙁

The problem with moldavite prices is that as it only occurs in one part of the world and from the one meteorite, there is obviously only a limited supply of it and apparently the price is on it's way up again due to shortage. The more expensive pieces are usually those referred to as "museum grade" but lower grade pieces and lightweight thin shards can usually be picked up a lot cheaper.

A good company I have dealt with before (I bought Moldavite from them at wholesale when I owned a shop) is http://www.arkadiancollection.com they are based in Poland and their pieces are the quality they claim they are. There's also a shop in the Czech Republic (where Moldavite comes from) called something like Rockshop who I have heard good things about but haven't dealt with them myself.

I still have a large piece that cost me over £100 a few year back, looking around at the prices now it would cost about £200.

Just another thought...

I have heard it said that a clear crystal quartz can be programmed and dedicated to take on the properties of another Crystal. I haven't personally tried this.....but as a genuine piece of Moldavite can be so expensive perhaps a programmed quartz is another option????

Be sure that the moldavite has been sourced from Moldova as there are fakes out there. There was a place selling "white moldovite" that I found (a.k.a. celestial calcite) from a site in America. I got a piece out of curiosity and took it to my friendly crystal specialist. He examined it and said it was just ordinary calcite that had been acid etched to give it the moldavite effect. It still has the qualities of calcite, but certainly not the energy of my piece of moldavite, which nearly knocked me off my feet when I found it in a shop in Wells (nr Glastonbury).

Always try and buy your moldavite from a place you can trust who knows where it's sourced from, otherwise you could be paying a lot of money for a piece of glass. 😉

I was holding my little piece yesterday, I don't often feel physical sensations from vibrational or subtle energies....but that one had me feeling sharp "pains" around my wrists.

I wondered if I had cramps (I always look at the logical first....tis the practical Taurean in me:rolleyes:), I swopped hands and it did the same in the other hand.....so think it's clearing some pathways.......like I said in my first post.. I am safely (hopefully) strapped in for this comet ride :D.

If you don't see me around for awhile I might have ejected into outer space.... :017::wave::005:

What I've noticed about the piece of Moldavite I bought from a mineral/crystal stall in Greenwich Market is that it is much lighter in weight than a piece of glass of a similar size.

My experience of moldavite is an expansion of energy mostly around Crown Chakra and Third Eye. I always have my head in the stars so this piece of beautiful green tektite is never far from me.

Interesting point Binah..I hadn't thought about the weight issue 😎

I am still waiting to buy enough pieces of moldavite (I need another 10 pieces) to make a grid as per Hazel Raven's Crystal Web of Light - Pleiadean Star from her book Crystal Healing. I think they will have to be small pieces though as the cost would be prohibitive. I will have to put them on my Christmas wish list.

As mentioned above you could always programme clear quartz pieces. We have done this to do one of Simon and Sue Lilly's grids from Crystal Doorways which requires twelve pieces, although probably between us here we would have enough - just!

I have five very small pieces which cost about £8.00 total. sometimes it is sold by weight.

Hi Giles,

The crystal authors Marilyn and Thomas Twintrees gave this form of elestial calcite this nickname of White Moldavite as it has an appearance similar to Moldavite and a gentle energy not dissimilar to normal Moldavite. However, they've always made it clear that it is elestial calcite.

It's naturally etched in the Mohave Desert in Arizona by sand and is very rare as pieces have to be scoured for and don't sit all together. It's formation is slightly illogical the etched grooves don't always correspond to cleavage directions or crystal growth planes.

Whoever sold it to you should have been clear in their description that it isn't the original type of Moldavite. And it's not been weathered by acid.

I've got a lovely chakra set of 7 pieces of this stone and it's pretty fab lying with them. 😀

I really recommend buying Moldavite in person as some pieces have a real zing to them and others don't, and this is nothing to do with them being inauthentic. This is one stone that I would urge you not to buy online, putting aside possible fraud issues, as it's easier to tell how you respond to that piece in person.

Also size is not directly proportional to its impact. I have a small naturally formed piece the size of of a cherry stone that has a stronger effect than other pieces I have around the size of a two pound coin. Some facetted pieces are really intense, for example where they've been facetted into pyramids.
