Hi all. Hope you can assist. Have just purchased a Cinnabar pendant which is also "combined with white Quartz and Yellow Dolomite" (one of my dreams again - being told to remember Cinnabar by the Angels (Zincite too)). As Cinnabar contains mercury, how careful should I be about wearing it??? Are there any precautions that I should take??? Your thoughts greatly appreciated as ever x

I've wondered about the safety of Cinnabar for several years since first coming across it for the reasons you point to. I've no personal experience of it as I haven't had a need for it.

This web page from Oxford University website notes that it is highly toxic if ingested or inhaled. I guess that means no sucking on it as a sweet!

Other research in books and online that I've done suggests that when combined with quartz, as is yours Cinnabar is at its most stable form. Perhaps be careful of wearing it against your skin and limit the amount of time your wear it for?

For experienced information I'd suggest writing to [DLMURL="http://heavenandearthjewelry.com/ecommerce/"]Robert Simmons[/DLMURL], the author of the Book of Stones, and asking for his professional opinion. He writes about the metaphysical properties of working with Cinnabar in his book, and crafts jewellery with it in. His e-mail addy can be found at the bottom of the website I've given.

Please let us know how you find the energy of your pendant.
