Hi this is my 1st day on this forum so please be gentle 😉
I was attuned to lvl 2 Reiki last year and since then I have found out that my house has an extra occupant. We have been in this house for 11 years. I haven't seen her yet but I can feel the temperature differences which is why I asked my Reiki teachers partner to come and look around the house as I couldn't bear to go in our bedroom after dark. It is an old lady who doesn't realise that she has passed over. He said that she was strongest in our attic bedroom and may have fallen down the stairs. I have felt her stroke my hair whilst I am in bed a few times but I am slowly getting used to this. I have black tourmaline in my pillow to try keep me feeling a little safer during the night (I am also still scared of the dark at 33 lol). Is there any crystal in particular that I could hold to keep me feeling a little stronger during the night time or when my partner is away please?
I don't wish for her to leave as this is her house and I am totally fine with that but I feel rude not being to find out if she is happy or even her name too. (Sorry that this is rather long)

You sound very brave being able to get used to a spirit brushing your hair!
I had problems with visitations at night before, and asked Archangel Michael for his assistance. He came to my rescue immediately!
When I used to visit a friend her guest bedroom was very active. One night I spent there I could literally feel myself being pulled one way then the other. It felt as though two different people were trying to pull me in different directions at the same time. I didn't sleep well at all. The next time I stayed without thinking I reikied the whole room,especially the bed. I did sleep so much better. Then realised I hadn't checked with my friend before I did it, it was just a feeling I needed to do it. She was fine as the spirits were still there just not so active! Maybe you could do something similar?

I will ask my Reiki teacher to Reiki my room for me. Other half thinks I am mental as he doesn't believe in that sort of thing - even the cats acting weird upstairs doesn't change his mind. My female cat loves sleeping in that room so I can tell she isn't a bad spirit.

If you have level 2 reiki you can do it yourself. Just sign the power symbol into all the walls,floor and ceiling. In my case I did the bed too.
An alternative view
I'm not a spiritualist and I'm not into Crystals, but I see spirits all the time. I don't think we need to try control them, and I'm totally sure we have nothing to fear.
I don't want to be controversial but I don't think we have any right in doing anything to them. They've had their time on earth and have passed to where they are. Everyone I see is at peace, and I'm at peace when I see them. They are in their realm and we are in ours.
Just a suggestion, but next time you see a spirit, just say hi.

I have talked 'at' the spirit on quite a few occasions and said that she is welcome here as it was obviously her house before me. I did say that she scared me by stroking my hair but now realise she was just trying to soothe me. Its mainly at night that I become a little scared and especially if my bf goes out for the night. I am slowly getting used to it. She certainly isn't mischievous like a spirit who pinched my bum quite a few years ago in a different house. I just feel rude not being able to see her, talk with her or know a little of her history.
How about researching the history of your house/ area at the library and in the local papers? you can probably do this online now.

Hi, I know how uneasy it can feel when your on your own at night. Im convinced we have a little girl, I say little shes around 8 or 9 ish in our house.
Would anyone know if children can be a little bit mischeavious at times...because we def have some funny things happen here, like small things being moved but its only in the hallway and kitchen dining area and strange as it may seem in the early afternoon you can catch a dark shadow of something or vearly in morning say 5-6..I cant work it out. Its never ventured upstairs...but we are all convinced there is someone here
I mainly sense 'our' spirit in the attic and on the attic stairs in 2 places but think she wanders on the 1st floor too. Never sensed anything downstairs yet. My bf thinks I am barking mad!!
I lived in a flat years ago where I had my bottom pinched whilst unpacking and my feet pulled whilst I was in bed as if the spirit wished me to come and play. Having my feet pulled was a little strange so I hid under the covers - like that's going to help tee hee.
Not had any luck on the net seeing if there were any deaths at my house so will try get to the library soon as its intriguing me
Yinyang, do you have any children of your own in the house? Poltergeists are attracted by children.
The house we lived in from when I was 10 till i moved out when I was 19 has several active spirits ,a lovely benign spirt called lilly , a black dog , and there were also a couple of other darker spirits which I would rather forget as we has some really scary stuff happen, We got a spiritualist in and she was alamed by the going on. I am glad I dont have those things happen any more, my home here feels at peace but sometomes like ying yang said just a feeling or a fleeting glimpse..
Hahaha I feel so foolish but my bf is going to a mates house for the night so I am in the house alone. 😮
