Apologise for putting my enq here,EFT .I have been reading about this,do any of you practice this? Can you tell me what you think of it, if you practice it,if you don't can you tell me what you think of it.
I am doing an Aroma course at the moment to compliment my other therapies,so i wouldn't have the time to dedicate to it at the moment even to check it out thoroughly, but i am interested in what everyone else thinks, This site is definately addictive isnt it just! xx:D

I know two therapists who have recently done EFT courses. One of them didn't see it through, because she thought it was rubbish and did nothing for her, but the other one raves about it and says it has helped her personally, and the people she has used it on.

I have been thinking of doing a course myself, it sounds interesting.

Typically we use the "Mind Therapies" forum for EFT, but it is sometimes referred to as "Psychological Acupuncture without the needles" so I guess this forum is just as good. 😉

I came across EFT a little by accident as I was asked if I'd like to do the course by a friend and I didn't really know anything about it, but I thought it would add to my toolbox of therapies and she was very persuasive. Before doing the course, we were asked to read the free downloadable manual from so that we could concentrate on the more advanced techniques of using EFT on the course rather than spending time learning the basics. I downloaded the manual and thought "what on earth is this? tapping with my fingers on my body whilst saying things? What have I let myself in for?"

As it turned out, I went on the course and got rid of my spider phobia with little effort whatsoever. Everyone on the course found it amazing, even the friend who works in the NHS and wasn't really "into" complementary therapies. She now recommends it to many of her patients.

Since the course I've used it with many clients and found it works wonders, and have also learnt Freeway-CER which is similar in some respects but doesn't require trying to find the root cause of the issue like EFT does, hence can resolve issues more swiftly.

As for anyone not seeing a course through because they thought it was "rubbish" they either a) clearly haven't done any research into how effective it is, how many people are finding benefit from it and how it can work with other therapies or b) the teacher was not very good at explaining the principles behind how it works or c) they have some other hang-up or belief system that prevents them from viewing new things with an open mind.

I thought it was weird to start with but then I saw it working and that was all I needed to convince me.

In line with your c) ... Yet another possibility for not seeing a course through might be an unconscious wish to remain in their comfort zone ... of actually NOT wanting to get better because of the payoffs for not doing so. Sorry to come across as cynical, but sometimes it's true.

Very true Holistic.........so many people exist totally in a comfort zone and don't want to feel uncomfortable, but then wonder why they don't make any progress...............we had to learn to walk didn't wwe??? How comfortable was that!! Look at us today, we are walking!!

:oThank you energylz i had a feeling that someone would have done it. I@m not scared to come out of my comfort zone, but i know a few people who would be,even though they are poorly.
It caught my eye ...because it is different..but it was on a site that smacks of selling, typically along the same lines as sites with stuff i wouldnt buy.Stuff that is just gimicky.
I would like to here if anyone else has done this course or even tried it and what they felt or thought.
I sometimes think that you have to believe in what you are doing for something truely to work, then your feelings transfer to your client.
Where did you do your course energylz?
I have down loaded the free version and thats what got me interested.
Jualsy are you still in touch with your friends who did this and is she still doing it and has she(your other friend) thought about it anymore?
Thanks for your thoughts and veiws its helpful x:o

Myself and a few others got together and had the teaching done at one of their houses by Dez Sellars (a member of HP too) who is a fantastic teacher.

I'm not sure Dez teaches EFT any more as he, like others of us, now tend to use Freeway-CER in place of it. EFT has provided us all with a very good basis for learning these therapies though and, although Gary Craigs website does seem a little commercial (like some of those dodgy sites) sometimes, it's safe to say that EFT has been learnt by many people and all have benefited from it. Gary actually has no need to make money from EFT as he made enough when he was a salesperson before doing EFT, so you can be fairly sure that what you pay out for anything on his site (like the DVD's which are very very good, even if filming can be a little amateur at times) is worth it. I got hold of all the DVD's (at the time they came on CD's and there was over 80 of them. The stinger was the import tax I had to pay customs and excise Grrrr!) and I still refer to them today.

I sometimes think that you have to believe in what you are doing for something truely to work, then your feelings transfer to your client.

The odd thing with these meridian based therapies is that they can work without believing in them. It is common to get "unsure" clients who give it a go, find that they are feeling loads better afterwards, but then make an excuse that it's some other reason that has made them feel better rather than the EFT or FREEWAY. For some reason they have trouble admitting to themselves that these things actually work. Of course you are right that it helps if the therapist believes in what they are doing, that is the same for any therapy or profession. If you learn on a good course (like the ones Dez teaches) then you will most certainly get to practice the therapy in the role of client and therapist and you will undoubtedly leave knowing for yourself that it works. I was unsure before I did the course and afterwards, I just knew it worked, I'd seen it with my own eyes, not just on myself, but for the others on the course too.

And Holistic is correct too, comfort zones obviously play a part. One of the most common is people who say they want to lose weight but no diet is working and they can't seem to do it. Muscle testing will show that they in fact don't want to lose weight and then you can get down to the real reasons why they want to keep the weight and treat those first. The same applies to people learning new things such as therapies... they're interested in it, they say they want to do it, but when they get to the course and find that they've got to be open and practice on each other with real issues (and we all have issues, so let's not deny it) they get scared.

I'm glad I did EFT, not just from a therapist point of view but also from a spiritual progression point of view, increasing my understanding of my self, and I'm glad I also went on to do Freeway-CER, which just enhanced my understanding and gave me a brilliant toolbox of treatements to work with.

I know you will find what is right for you.
