Hi

Just wondered if anyone on here had tried acupunture for endometriosis and fertility problems. If so any success stories?

Endometriosis and acupuncture

Hi Claire

I am an acupuncturist. In my experience endo is well treated by acupuncture. It takes regular treatment (ideally weekly) but should result in total elimination of pain and irregular bleeding. A recent patient is now, in her own words, free of endo (after about 4 years of severe problems). However, I must add I do use both acupuncture and EFT (which is tapping on acupuncture points), I am not sure I would get the same results without BOTH. (For EFT details see emofree.com)

I do not practice Chinese herbs, but some believe this is an important component, if you go the acupuncture route. Andrew Flower (BAcC acupuncturist) does both herbs and acupuncture.

As for treating infertility with acupuncture, there is numerous research to support its efficacy. Zita West and the Kite Clinic are the biggest clinics specialising in infertility. For the best marketed acupuncturists, treating fertility is one area where they can charge more, and is easily promoted, because of the great results and the highly charged emotions around wanting to get pregnant. However, in my view it's best to find an acupuncturist who you have a rapport with, who understands you. Anyone with good training (normally BAcC registered) should have the knowledge to effectively treat infertility and they don't have to be at a specialist clinic.

I hope that's helpful, but do get in touch if you have any further questions. I'm trying to be unbiased, and informative.

Take care and good luck.

Hi Claire

There are various nutritional things you can do to help like eating a wholefood diet, 50% of your intake being raw vegetables and fruits, raw nuts and seeds plus soya foods. Include 'green' drinks of juices made from dark green veg and grasses. I would include oat bran at breakfast to bind to and help excrete excess oestrogens. No refined flour (white bread, pasta, sugar or rice), processed foods, alcohol, coffee, animal fats, butter, dairy produce, fried foods, additives, red meats, shellfish, junk or fast foods, or fizzy drinks. Sally Child is the nutritional specialist in female problems and she has had some fantastic results with her work, find her at this link - she has written several books too.

The other option I would suggest is to try EFT. There are seven reports listed on .

Wishing you all the best through this distressing time.

Caroline
