Hi Silver,

No, you don't need to go to classes to develop, and you don't have to be a platform medium, but by going along to train with an experienced medium will help direct your meditations. It doesn't have to lead to public work, but it will help to make sense of any messages you get, and how to recognise them and handle them.

It is up to you Silver, but I would always recommend anyone who is thinking of doing this to have at least a basic uinderstanding of what being a developed medium is like. It isn't something one can 'coach' like a distance learning course.

I say this as a friend.

Love,
Patsy.

I have been advised to do that many times but do you really think at my age it would be worth it?:)
But I do see your point and would love to try it but not somewhere like Stansted.
Too big and too expensive.....:(

...................

(I've heard this argument a lot in shamanic circles, too. There, I would say that I disagree. But you might consider this to be different.)

Shamanism's principles and/or practices are not relevant to the religion and philosophy of Spiritualism, the title of this forum.

Hi Silver,

You are never too old to be a trained medium. You are a lady with a most beautiful, kind, loving heart, and your gift will be so much more enhanced with the right guidance. Do you have a Spiritualist church nearby? They may have a circle, in which an experienced medium sits in a group with other people at the same level (i.e. beginners) and takes them through some simple meditations. She/he will also offer advice, if asked. Usually they are about £1 per session (it varies, but the cost only covers the tea and biccies afterwards - very important after meditation.)

Stansted Hall? Now, Silver, don't get me started on THAT place.....

You don't have to practise your mediumship at all, you can develop your gift for only yourself.

Let me know how you get on.

Love,
Patsy.

Which is why I put it in parentheses.
