Any idea,folks?

Do you feel that the subject of spiritualism is going forward or backward?

Anything new on the subject that has appeared over the last few years?

Has Spirituialism advanced or stayed static?

I would appreciate your opinions folks.

Nothing can go backwards it can only grow in the present.

There's always "new" things, but are they really new? In this "new age" there are many people creating their own "systems" or "techniques", giving them new labels etc. but often these are just re-hashes of existing things that have been around many years... a classic well known example is "The Secret" which is really about "The Law of Attraction" which itself is just another name for a way of living that has been around for over a century (and likely before that in one guise or another).

Has Spirituialism advanced or stayed static?

It's changed certainly... in a way. "Advanced" would be something subjective, so there's no real answer to that, though personally I'd say we can only "advance" ourselves spiritually. In terms of spirituality itself, I would say that overall, it's static, just the perception of it keeps changing.

Hi Silverhood ..

I think many younger individuals if they went to certain spiritualist churches would say that it feels a bit old hat ..

I suppose it depends on where you go .

Perhaps many of the old school spiritualists can still connect with the past spiritual regimes and energies that contain prayer, singing hymms and such likes .

I suppose it depends on the congregation . I notice in our local church that there are quite a few young ones that are interested in spiritualism but they start to pull funny faces when they are handed a hymm book that contains songs from 50 years ago lol .

Spiritual philosophy however that is of the truth can never be dated because the essence is true and sincere _ and such philosophies want and contain nothing more than to bring peace and love to the minds and the hearts of the many .

So in a nut shell _ yes and no to your question .

I like the answers to your questions and do agree with you both.

But I do feel that the subject of spiritualism needs a shake up.
Let's bring it into more modern times.
I also appreciate that the passed years were informative but so much technology now could surely aid the subject of spirit once more.
Too many closed off circles keeping information quiet in stead of spreading the word about what's new and progress being made.
The few demonstrations that are held publicably cost the earth to attend.
Lets make spiritualism open to all by free demonstrations once in a while.
Maybe a charity box for folks to contribute to those who need help.

Spiritualism & the 21st Century

Not a lot, from what I can gather.

Has it completed its karmic contract,
played its part in ushering in the New Golden Age,
and is now past its use-by date?

Heavens,it's a long time since I visited here...:o
Thank you for your answer.
You have a good point, spiritual nut.

I do believe we now title spiritualism as Modern Spiritualism though haven't seen much progress in the last few years.
Like you,I see more young ones visiting spiritualist churches and that is good.
About time those young'uns do,but where are the new younger mediums to keep up with the young ones who visit?
Younger mediums and younger visitors could possibly bring spiritualism back into the lime light.
With a modern approach.....:)

They wouldn't be the words I'd use but I would say 'yes' to the questions posed.
