Not sure if everyone knows (I feel I must have mentioned it already but am having enough senior moments lately to not be quite certain!) but I am off to South India on Friday. I used to spend six months of each year over there but have not been now for two years so am very excited. I hope to be able to pop up on HP from time to time and keep you up to date with my doings and my comings and goings. I shall miss spending my time on here (ummm....possibly not!) and my fantasy football team will probably go sadly untweaked. But I shall miss Christmas (hooray) and when I get back Spring will be on the way. So I bid you all a fond farewell - though there are still a few days to go and I haven't quite gone yet.

Lots of love

Hi Sunanda,

Well, just as you're leaving, I've finally caught up with you! I sat down and read your thread from beginning to end, which was lovely and has helped to dispell the winter chills! I'm sure you've heard that we've had arctic conditions here and then yesterday, the South and East had one month's rain in 24 hours (but then, that's normal for India)

So glad you've had such a brilliant time and we all look forward to you being back on HP regularly again!

Love

Judy

This will be my last post from India: I leave tomorrow evening and will be back in UK on Wednesday. This has been a great stay, though not without its ups and downs. As I knew would happen, three months have slithered away like those snakes I encountered! Actually my 'critter' adventures have been continuing: a couple of days ago a mongoose crossed my path and just yesterday, while we were gathered on the roof of Manna Cafe (under a thatch canopy) to watch a movie (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter...and Spring - excellent!) two Ukrainian girls found a teensy baby bat on the floor. This little one was about the length of my thumbnail and had probably fallen from his nest in the eaves. Well, after some discussion we ensconced him on top of the (warm) chimney in between some loose building bricks and then got on with watching the film. Halfway through someone else spotted a larger bat (larger being a relative term - this one was about an inch and a half long) also crawling on the floor so 'she' was placed on the same chimney and we think a mother and child reunion took place. It was too dark to check last night if they were still there but they were very sweet. (We were all conscious that bats can carry rabies so we didn't want to give them the opportunity to bite us.)
Anyway, people, my next post will be from England. Sorry not to have been more informative or entertaining, but I didn't really do much travelling - just spent time in places and with people I know well. My journeys were more within than without....

Lots of love
