We've had a looong cold winter in the UK, and an early easter to come ...anyone got any special plans for the easter break?
No plans as such but hopefully we'll get chance to spend time on various beeches.
Same as every Easter - we are going to the seaside!
It's our wedding anniversary on the day after Easter Monday too, so planning an extra night away in a romantic hotel somewhere:043::043:

Going tree climbing then, Louisa?:D
Gran Canaria....YEAH....:nature-smiley-008:
A stay-put weekend as far as I can see!

Actually - I think that sounds like fun! Imagine! Spending the whole weekend in a tree house.
WESAK and EASTER
Wesak is traditionally for centuries past a deep spiritual time during the full moon in May, in which to become one with Gautama Buddha. In my tradition it's way extended to include oneness with Gautama, sure, but many other Attained Ones too. Yet further, since Wesak per se is not a Western holiday or period off work, we also celebrate it ... no, not the right word at all .... we practice going into it deeply - over Easter (which is only a couple of weeks or so removed from May's full moon). So Easter for myself and my colleagues on the Path is going to be a huge "going within" for several days - in the case of hundreds who are meeting together, for two weeks.
Some of this is broadcast over the internet for days at a time. Which leads me, if I may, into a real-life joke. We have a day, with several hundred together, during the 2-week Wesak / Easter Retreat, when not a word is spoken. The 24 hours is basically spent in silence, everyone wears totally white clothes, and it's a day of preparation in silence for some more deeper work to come over 6 more days. It's called "White Linen Day". Now, I have to admit I found it amusing when someone emailed to our group, "Will White Linen Day be a net audio broadcast?" And it had to be explained that no, it would not be an audio net broadcast as it was, er ... 24 hours of silence. 🙂
V
Off to Shambala Buddhist retreat in Findhorn Scotland for a meditation weekend. Went last year and loved it. Went straight from there tho to a caravan park with hubby four kids so from one extreme to another. Although if I had not been for the weekend in Findhorm I might have been climbing trees to get away from everyonr LOL.
Whatever everyone ends up doing I wish you all a fantastic time.
