RE: Disabled Travel

Rhodes paladium hotel complex-costy though. Or Feurteventura is fine. Amsterdam is fine. Aparently malta isnt great for getting about. In England: - Norfolk. i know it may seem like im being funny as norfolk is fairly flat- but no pun intended. I live in norfolk so should know a bit about places that are good to go. Well Thetford forest elveden Centre Parcs is accessible, and alot of walking or cycling routes are wheelchair friendly. Some may have rougher terrain so it depends on whether your son has enough arm power and/or wheelchair control concerning tipping etc. But if its auto powered or has helper handles then not a problem. To be honest it might be a good idea to look into tourist information to find out about accessibility. BUt generally Norfolk as a rule is pretty good. You may find some cities or other towns arent as accessible due to historical architectural background concerning buildings etc. I ve just had to ring round a few different B n B's to see if wheelchair accessible just in one area close to where I live and there were a few-and that wasnt just in Town, also in surrounding villages.
Norwich City is pretty darn cool concerning access. And its a lovely pretty & diverse City to visit.
Let us know how you get on!

RE: Disabled Travel

Hi there - I was just scrolling through the travel section and saw this - guess you sorted a holiday last year but wanted to add a thought.

As a student nurse I recently had a placement with Vitalise (providers of disabled breaks - see vitalise.org.uk - i think anyway [sm=confused-smiley-012.gif]) and spent some time in Southport - I found that it on the whole was very wheelchair friendly and we had some days out to a local safari park and shopping centre.

Hi try [link= http://www.dalegarth.co.uk/index.asp ]http://www.dalegarth.co.uk/index.asp[/link] in North Yorkshire, has wheelchair access and a good disabled bathroom.

My mum is disabled & we went to Oasis at Centre Parc's in Penrith & that was good.

Hope this helps
