My darling partner has decided to treat me to a holiday in April. 
After a tough few years for us both this really means the world to me 
I don't know where to yet.......which will be a lovely surprise. All I have are the dates we fly and the rough times from Gatwick airport.
Can anyone help as I don't have a clue where to start in how to get there from West Yorkshire and cheaply(ish). Travelodge rooms are £29 for the Tuesday night so that is an option. Another option is leaving our transit van at the airport and that's around £50. Plus diesel. Didn't even know where Gatwick was

Dont know where about in Yorkshire you are but if your not too far (or maybe a friend could drop you off/pick you up) why dont you fly down to Gatwick from Leeds/Bradford airport.
My partner and I had to go to Southampton the other day and he looked on the airport website and got 2 tickets for around £30 each and just took 40 mins to get there, its only about an hour and 10-15mins flight to Gatwick.
And there is a travel lodge right next to the airport if you wanted to stay the night before so you didnt have to set off as early.

I have stayed at a couple of the hotels around gatwick, not sure if it was travel lodge but I remember that most of them have a shuttle service to the airport, which helps alot, more so when its early in the morning! I think they all have decent prices. You can normally get cheaper flights if you book early enough.
I hope I get a holiday this year! went to a friends apartment in Spain last year for few days.... after arriving at midnight and waiting a whole hour to pick up our hire car my clever hubby got us completely lost for THREE hours..at night! he'd pressed the wrong address on the sat nav!!!...I've never seen so many hookers in all me life!! lol Then he ran over and killed something in the road, god knows what! least is wasn't human, lots of tears! anyway, thought I'd share that with you, we did have a nice holiday in the end but I'll be going package this year!

£112 from leeds bradford return so I have popped it on my pricing up list but seems a little dear. The travel lodge is £ 29 so thats an option too.

gawd knows where we are going it's exciting not knowing. He says we have to go for jabs.
Been a tough few years with his parents dying so it will do us the world of good. Bless him he really deserves to let his hair down.

Muddi..it wasn't one I'll forget in a hurry, couldn't stop thinking of the poor animal that he run over, it wasn't small neither! we actually ended up at his friends solicitors in the middle of a town with lots of spanish people trying to communicate with us, waving their arms around, god, probably gone down a one way or something, think I'll go back Tunisia this year, no more new places please!... (rocking back and forth now) 😮

Even though I am loving the excitement of not knowing anything about the location of this holiday I just had to know whether I would need a backpack or suitcase. Phew it's a suitcase 😀 Can keep buying Summer clothes 🙂
So far all I know is its 3 days in one place then hiring a car and driving to the next place for 7 days. OMG my holiday is coming up fast 😀

We ended up going to Venice for 3 days, then stayed at Capena which is just above Rome. Wow wow wow we absolutely loved our holiday so much that we went back and stayed in the South, looked at a few houses and have decided to put in an offer on a house we can rent out......watch this space x x
