Hi
I am on an ITEC hilistic diploma covering- Business skills, holistic massahe, A&P, reflexology, indian head, aromatherapy and nutrition.
I have been told I need to do keys skills
1) a 5 minute presentation
2) 2 reports
I have a 1st class honours degree with professional skills, post graduate training, academic publishing, 8 years in higher education, commercial training experience and 4 years working for the NHS on complaints, reporting directly to PCTs and the minister for health. Do I need to do the key skills or can I ask for accreditation for prior learning? I have 3 kids, one just 7 months, so any small saving on time is a god send. My tutor doesn't seem to understand. Heaven forbid a studen has done more than her!!!!! It's not about ego... but time is a precious commodity.

I would just like to add that it is late and that a few glasses of wine have been consumed.....SORRY for spellings above-so not in keeping with my integral biology.... I'll drink lots of water tommorrow I promise.... so good the kids are in bed though.

RE: Key Skills- accreditation for prior learning
as far as I am aware you cannot have an APL for Key skills. It sounds to me as you could do the asignments asked of you very easily , so why not bite the bullet and do it - you probably could combine this with some revsion for your course ie % of aroma oils in dilution for Aromas to cover your numeracyor something to do with business skills (tax etc) and then really anything to cover your literacy - a book report springs to mind. If you feel you are doing somethign positive with the time it might not be so onerous
