I really need some help please, can those of you who have taken your exam give me a rough idea of what questions the examiner asks you whilst you are massaging? Did anyone find the practical difficult?
I have my exam Sat 13th Aug so any advice will be greatly appreciated as I am nervous... GULP! [:o]

the questions are only worth a small % of the exam so dont worry to much. if the answer wont come you just say tht ur mind has gone blank and she/he will either ask u another q or come back to you.
the q's generally asked are contra-indications, type of massage stroke using, benfits of massage, first ais q's
important thing is to focus on the massage itself, and when she comes maintain contact with the client

I posted some questions on another recent thread about the Massage Prac.
It helped me to think that I needed to concentrate on my client and trying to give her the best possible massage I could manage. That's what it's all about, after all. Focussing on the client stopped me doing a big panic about the examiner, who was really kind and understanding anyway. I started answering one question saying,
"I'm a bit nervous today so I just need to think for a few seconds........."and the answer started coming into my head.

I answered my questions ok but I cant remember what they were, my friend was massageing the leg when the examiner came over to her, the examiner asked Maragaret which muscles she was currently working on, M had a complete blank but said so and told her what the quadriceps were instead.
pack everything you need the day before and then check in the evening

If you have a brainblock as they are coming around you can always ask that you answer the question in a little while. I once had someone who was a bit embarrassed and suffered from depression and I was asked why they had come so I explained why later on.. If you are flummoxed, just ask for time and you'll come back to it, there's no rush. Concentrate instead on making sure the client is relaxed and you get the most out of it too.
