I agree with what others have said, especially as it's a friend of a friend.
It's really hard to charge those you've treatment for free once qualified, so this puts you in good stead.
Keep up the good work, and enjoy your gifts!
She sounds like a lovely person, and you're clearly doing a good job. Well done!
Coming to the end of my case studies too, also for Reflexology - like you, I couldn't, and didn't, charge for them, as they were for me to learn from and I was grateful of the opportunities. Some of the case studies that I have finished have now become paying clients, which also made me feel a bit uncomfortable at first, but you do need to get comfortable both receiving money, and asking for it. I am charging them a discounted price as I feel they've earned it, however I am also getting new clients through them, at full price, so it's all working out quite nicely. Another case study I have almost finished wants to continue, she is a massage and reiki therapist, so we've agreed to just consider it a swap - fine by me!
Thanks everyone for the advice, I feel much better about taking the money from them now, plus I have to amit that it has boosted my confidence in my abilities since working on this lady. I have got 4 extra 'clients' this week, all recommended by the lady, so I am in for a busy week. Plus they all have different and interesting issues, such as, bereavment, amputation (so I have to adapted and do hand reflex), over active thyroid and depression, so I will have a good range to put in my portfollio.
I have also finished one of my case studies, who suffered from cronic stress, today and I have found that during the 6 weeks which she has been having treatments, there has been a massive inprovement in her physical and emotional well being! As she is a photographer, she said that as a thank you, she has offered to do so portraits of my kids as well as continuing with the treatments!!
Thanks again guysxxx
That's great! I think a lot of people like doing an energy exchange of some sort 🙂
I'm all for the energy exchange too. I advise my students to ask for something in return, and a tenner is a lot healthier than chocolate.
