Does anyone know the minimum water temperature when risnsing items prior to sterilisation?

Hi,
I don't think that this will be of much help but the book that I have only states to wash implements in hot soapy water, rinse with plain water and dry thoroughly, then use chosen method of sterilization.
May be hot means above 60 degrees? Would be very interested to know the answer to this question myself.
