Hello Peeps,
Following on from caringsoul's thread here, which explores the paranormal side:

Does anyone think that there might be a logical/scientific explanation for what Buzz Aldrin saw during his moon walks?
Love,
Patsy.

RE: UFOS
Just like to say that this thread isn't only for discussing the experiences of Buzz Aldrin from a scientific viewpoint. It's open to all who wish to talk about UFOs from a logical standpoint.

RE: UFOS
Hi Patsy
I think the majority of sightings on Earth can be explained away as either atmospheric phenomenon, birds, planes etc. A small percentage would be secret military aircraft that has not been revealed to the public yet, such as the triangle shaped ones seen over Belgium and the USA. BUT...a small percentage really are UFOs, and by that I mean Unidentified Flying Objects. However, I do believe that due to the sheer amount of sightings and footage that some are actually extraterrestrial in origin.
Ask any astronomer/scientist and they will say that there has got to be life on other planets due to the sheer scale of the universe and the billions of planets out there! It's a case of percentages isn't it?
I heard that most astronauts reported seeing objects in space, as have a large proportion of airline pilots and military personal, but they soon get a quick chat by the MIB 😀 There are lots of theories, some wacky, some plausable, but what seems to be an overriding feeling is that we have been visited and still are. Whether the people in power have made contact or not, such as Majestic 12 is still open to debate, as evidence is slim.
I would have thought what the astronauts saw could be alien, because if we were being watched, they would be interested to see what we were doing in our first space outing. Probably laughing hysterically at our technology actually 😀

What's a bit disturbing, since humour IMO is a sign of mental health and general good humour, is that in literally thouands of reported cases of landings and meetings (yes, there are that many), no humour has ever been displayed.
... one reason I look askance when cults have faith in some kind of real or unreal "space brothers".

RE: UFOS
Absolutely right there, David. Even in some of these books, whose authors claim to have 'channelled' beings from outer space, humour is sadly lacking. In almost allUFO/alien stories (both fictional and supposedly factual) the stories tend to be tinged with menace of one sort or another. However, there is one exception, which I know of. It became known as the 'Mince Pie Incident' and wasn't supposed to be humorous, but it turned out that way in the telling. To save me a lot of typing (and much mirth whilst I'm doing so) here is a link to the story. One amendment - the original newspaper article said that Mrs. Hingley offered 'whisky' and not 'water.' Anyway, enjoy:
