A quick note on Rendlesham, though. The female author of "You Can't Tell The People" was there for her book - the base is long-since closed, and everything's changed with little left to see ....

I had a curious feeling that the airforce base at Rendlesham was closed, David. However, that takes nothing away from what was, and is, a very strange case. I heard the transcript years ago, and the men involved were all genuinely frightened by what they'd experienced. In the years since December 1980, no plausible explanation has ever been found for the curious lights in the forest.

That transcript is great David! I wonder if the gaps were removed for some reason or the radio actually broke up?

Seems the UK Government are so concerned about the massive increase in sightings this year that they have recruited a special Mulder and Scully-like FBI team to look into it! Quite why they would need the FBI is beyond me though. Then again it was originally a story from The Sun so take it with a pinch of salt 😉

It's hard to know what to make of that article, as it's so badly written and has no references. I can't believe at all that the FBI are being used - the MoD wouuld not do that. And how "undercover" is it, when printed in The Sun? :p It sounds like a very garbled version of something smaller which may or may not be happening. Is there any other printed or online source about it, or about an upsurge in UK UFO activity?

I don't think there's anything mysterious about the breaks in the recording. It was a dictaphone-type of recording, not intended to be continuous but as note-keeping. So, usually each new section starts with the time being given, for instance.

It's hard to know just how big Rendlesham was as a set of repeated incidents, but some who were at the base then have said that the base commander met with beings from a craft, this all being video'd, and all kinds of wierdness. But the detailed books are best on that, not a forum post.
