I have always been fasinated bySpace & the universe. I regularly check BBC Website to see news on new & exciting stuff, & now I have found it, could this be the question everybody has been waiting for.
Are we alone in the universe.

RE: New Earth Found

I don't doubt there are other habitable planets out there.
Good to see they've found a possibility though.

14 times closer to its star, 13 days to a year and 1.5 times the size of the Earth. Gravity would be quite strong, so anyone living there is likely to be stunted compared to ourselves, either that all they'd have no bones and all be slugs.

Doncha just love to speculate. 😀

But it's sun is a red dwarf that's only one third the mass of our Sun (there's a video here)

Well that's why the temperature of the planet is considered habitable even though it is 14 times closer, but the gravity is mainly due to the size of the planet itself (assuming it's density is similar to Earths).

Not that we'll ever get there in our lifetime.

Yes, I wasn't referring to the gravity but why it's considered that life could be found there - it may not be human life as we know it though!;)
