RE: How can nothing exist?

Going from a linguistic difference between something and nothing, it seems to me that something is when somebody found a thing. Eventually, nothing is when nobody found a thing. (I mean when everyone couldn't find a thing for some reason)

Coming from this, it seems that something and nothing is a relationship between a subject and object.

Considering existance, existance is when one small part of a thing exists, it means that whole thing exists. Coming back to subject and object, subject always exists. At the very least, God always exists.

In the previous condition, subject always exists means that the object exists as well. Thereforth if nothing is nobody found a thing, if nobody exists (because it is everyone who didn't find a thing) thereforth nothing does exist.

Surely the concept of "nothing" existing depends on the level of reality you are focused on... if it is visual, and there is nothing in the box then there is nothing, if it is more quantum there there is always something as it is energy, vacuum, potential etc etc..

However, Nothing in itself has to exist in relation to "something" ...as it is a polarised aspect of God, i.e how would we know light without dark etc etc.. and the fact that "nothing" exists within the concepts of our minds surely proves that it does exist on some level.... although how i'm not sure!! 😮 and maybe not on the physical....

but i agree, the nothingness would surely be unlimited potential as it has no limits, constructs, or boundaries on it.... and therefore is nothingness justeverythingness, as it would contain the whole within it.. in a holographic sense, just as yet unmanifested???

RE: How can nothing exist?

I've still got to go through all these properly, but this reminds me of the story about the philosophy students you may have heard where the tutor placed a chair in the middle of the room and said - prove this chair doesn't exist.

So they all set to work writing like mad trying to prove the chair doesn't exist, except for one student who scribbled something and handed in his paper. They were even more stunned to find that he was the only student to get an A.

So they asked the tutor what he'd written and all he'd scribbled down was "What chair?" thus proving to himself that there was no chair.

Perhaps that's the secret to nothing - if you believe you did nothing all weekend, then you did nothing all weekend and that's a fact...? [Lifeexperience is personal afterall].

How can we measure darkness?

We can only see the amount of light that exists in a room. Absolute darkness means that there is no light in the room.

The same about nothing.

How can nothing be experienced? For example on a mental level, I think that one needs to lack all thoughts, that's when one can experience Nothingness. Some call this Nirvana. If somebody could do this, then maybe they can tell us how they accomplished this.
