I saw a movie about 2012 Doom's Day.
It's said that a planet will destroy Sun and our planet.
And I also saw some youtube videos with proofs from N.A.S.A but I think they are fake.
What's your opinion?

I believe there is some sort of energy shift going on but. 'Doomsday'.phooey!!.

I went to a talk a couple of weeks ago and there was an author promoting his book on Ascention and Ascended masters........well, what can I say !.

One mans view on the end of the world.

IMO....the biggest load of old B******T I have heard in a long time. Needless to say. I wasn't his most favorite person in the room.

2012 haikus
And not containing 'B******'?

Many words and much talking does not give this theory any more credibility V. Remember. I listen to this guy banging on about the end of the world, and then he charged everyone for the privilage........B******T.

Hi V,

The jester takes stage,
Haikus and juggling and tickling sticks,
The auditorium fell quiet.:p

Hi Sunny,

That's so funny. You see, I was gonna pull V up on his dodgy structure of Haikus as in the 5,7,5 syllables. But then I realised it should be 5,7,5 Japanese syllables. So as my command of Japanese aint so great lately(LOL) I thought I would just go for the message.;)

That'll teach me to play in the big kids sandpit. 😀

I think you are right Sunny. There are big changes a comin. But the end of the world. That is just thoughtless scaremongering. !! and just to earn a few extra quid.

I don't know how true it is but it is said that this year is calculated to be the Mayans 2012 ?. Maybe V could enlighten us whether this is true or not ?

The Mayan's calendar comes to an end December 21st 2012 at 11:11 (I believe. Although the 11:11 may be a bit of a New Age add on). Some have interpreted this as being the end of the world but others interpret it as The Beginning. Maybe they just ran out of chalk?

I don't really take much notice of this stuff but it grabbed my attention once because my eldest son was born on December 20th at 11:11, (1988), So his birth time is 2012 11:11. OOoooooo, I thought. LOL

Since nobody after the thread-starter seemed to worried, I never got around to it, but on HP I date back to over 5 years ago 😮 (a smiley for sad?) :p - and I could have done a search to put in links. Didn't as nobody seems too fussed. But oh my loolaley! In my first 2+ years on HP, most people here then thought something gigantic was going to tangibly happen in December 2012, and many thought it was something dreadful. Off-hand I forget her name, but an excellent astrologer here then gave a funny but true link to a list of all the many varied predictions for then. Some were good, some bad, some reasonable enough if you follow astrology and the Maya culture, others ridiculous. We're going in that December through a warp into another Universe, y'know. Or the saucers are all coming to collect us all first. Etc, etc.

The tone of HP is very, very different now!

On haikus, I didn't bother with syllable numbers because (1) I used to know the numbers but had forgotten; (2) I know people like Jack Kerouac ... no, he must have written English haikus ... but people translate Japanese ones, and is it possible to do that well keeping to syllable numbers? Or do they forget syllables and do it literally? In short, I thought - What the heck. 😀

No, Oakey. 2012 is the year when the Maya calendar ends. But mine on the wall ends this coming December, so? 🙂

I forgot to emphasise my point above in that post. A careful search would find at least 2 long threads on 2012, good and deep at times, somewhere in say 2004-5. Probably not under astrology.

No, you won't find threads that old in the Astrology forum, which was created much more recently.

I believe that astra is the name of the person to whom you're referring, and I would suggest that if you, V, or anyone else is interested in reading her posts in former threads, you use Search on her username, and in the Spirituality forum, since that's where most astrological stuff was posted back then. Yes, her posts were very well worth reading, IMO.

It's pointless me posting a link to my search result on the above, because unlike on the former version of HP, such links only work for the person doing the searching ... everyone else gets 'invalid link' or similar 🙁 So you'll just have to do your own :p

HTH anyway 🙂

H.

astra, yes. Liz's posts were always worth a read, and yes, this would then have been under Spirituality.

So.... why did the Mayan calender end??... and yes I do believe that changes are afoot.... Linked to the calender?? maybe - maybe not, but with weather changes and such - It does make you wonder. I prefer to wait and see rather than dismiss all together..

So.... why did the Mayan calender end??...

Why does our calendar end on 31st December each year? Because it was a convenient cycle representing the orbit of the planet around the sun. The mayan's created their calendar to start again at the end of the cycle. Yes, there probably is some underlying belief or understanding behind their cycle and that is what people really should be interested in. Believing that the world is going to be destroyed in 2012 is just silly conspiracy theories, scare mongering and codswollop. 🙂

Wasn't that just about the computers not being able to work out what Year 2K meant? A friend of mine made a fortune sorting it out for big corporations. Yet another example of media hype and prophecies of doom....
