Hi,
We (my partner, a close friend and I) have just moved to Gwynedd. We are intending to continue teaching shamanism from here. Only been here two days, so we're still surrounded by boxes!

That's a shame! I was hoping to arrange to meet up with you sometime, with you not living too far from here. Missed the boat, eh!

Well, I'm sure Scarborough will miss you Crowan, but hope you settle in well and enjoy what Wales has to offer - lots of interesting history, I know. Any particular reason for your choice?

Yes, it would have been good to meet. Happy Birthday, by the way.

We’ve been in Scarborough for nine years (the longest I’ve lived anywhere) and I’d never really settled. My partner loved it and was very involved in local politics, but she became disabled about four years ago and was becoming increasingly trapped in the house. We decided to move, encouraged by our spirit helpers, in March, and looked in many different places. By the end of July we had almost given up finding the perfect place. We were off to Sweden on the Sunday and at 10pm on the Saturday night a friend and fellow shamanic practitioner texted to ask if we were still interested in forming a community (a long held dream of mine). I phoned her on Sunday morning and she said that her spirit helpers were keen for her to join us. We agreed that we would all three go for it! Then we went to Sweden for two weeks.
We came back and discovered that in those two weeks our friend had not only put her house on the market but had also sold it. She came round armed with a list of possible places and we went to see a few. We put in an offer on the first one we saw – it’s beautiful.
That was in early August. Everything has seemed so slow – it was three weeks before our offer was accepted and the management company selling it has put it in for auction twice since then. Still, all is completed and we are finally in. The house is named “Amynedd” – Welsh for ‘patience’!
The woman who had owned it had died. We were told it was the end of last year but everything in the garden points to her having missed two growing seasons. We were asked if we’d take all her furniture as well, so ours is in store while we sort the place out – that may take ages.
We have to be in Scarborough again next week (and about seven times over the next two years) as we have on-going 3-year practitioner courses that we are committed to teaching in North Yorkshire.
We will continue training practitioners but my main interest in teaching shamanism is working with spirits of nature. Although there is a lot of good shamanic work to be done in urban areas, people are more keen to learn it in rural areas – and I’d rather live in the country. We are in a village near to Cader Idris and near to the coast, where students can walk out of our door and connect with nature spirits.

Thanks. It's beautiful here and we are very happy. I'm hoping the new website will be up soon and our workroom is nearly ready, so we'll be up and running soon.

If you find yourself in the Llwyngwril area, let me know and I'll put the kettle on!
