If many of your friends are always busy, and live in the area, find out what they are doing and join in!

I was bought up in Fareham, and know your area quite well - when I was about 14, I stayed with a sage elderly aunt for some of the summer holidays, in Lymington, when I moaned about being bored. She quietly said "only boring people become bored".... it made me think and I soon found stuff to occupy myself!

I think it is too easy for us to say, I'm bored. I see in your other thread you are depressed and being treated for this. More than that medical science can't do for you, the rest you have to do for yourself.

Do you have any hobbies? I am at home the whole day, I can make that an interesting time or I can be bored and veg in front of the TV. I paint in 5 different techniques, all self taught with books out the library and surfing for techniques and ideas etc., I read more books than what the library has to offer, I do therapies for people, have done 4 college evening courses in the last 4 years, I have done 2 further courses on webdesign. I plan and cook lovely food for my husband, go look for fresh food, interesting recipes etc. I work in the garden, I often walk to the shop instead of driving. I knit a bit, do a bit of embroidery. I'll try everything once. I might only do it a few times, but at least I have tried......

Think about something you would like to do. Maybe a yoga or pilates club, or take up knitting, or join a group that has something that interest you? It was mentioned on the forum on another thread that the best defence against depression is excercise, go for that walk or do something to get movement and it might make you feel better and motivate you to do more.

Don't begrudge your friends for their busy lives, they are living their lives and you have to live yours. Every choice you make and every thought you have is what is shaping your reality, try not to look at only the negative and look more at the positive. Sit down and write a list of what you have to be grateful for, it might be longer than you think.

Sounds like your boyfriend is very supportive, why not do something special for him - make sure the house is spick & span, cook him a nice meal and light some candles, switch of the telly and have a talk to him about exactly how you feel. He knows you best and maybe he can come up with some good ideas.......

it could be because you live ther? i had holiday in bournemouth 2 years ago and loved it! went to places we ahd never been before. maybe go and visit different places if you liek that sort of thing like museums, sea life, zoos stately homes?arrange girls night out, take up hobby like someone suggested, go for a walk borrow a dog if you havent got one it also gives you the feel good factor,or go for walk look at nature, go for facial ( colleges might do cheap ones for students?,get nails done, anything you think you might like to do for a change.
