I can only talk from the "sending Reiki/healing" point of view and I agree with what is said above.
With Quantum-Touch in particular we teach that energy follows thought and intention, so if you're thinking of someone with the intention that they receive energy then they will receive it. What they choose to do with it is up to them!
As QT energy is based on Love, it is always a positive sending of energy and can only do them good. (Reiki practitioners, and I am sure all other energy healers, would only send with good intentions too).
You can also send energy to be received at some point in the future rather than sending it immediately to the recipient.
If I have a lot of people to send energy to I have a special box that I use to keep photos or even just paper with names on that I charge with energy and then send it to everyone at the same time as a sort of "ritual". (Works with both QT and Reiki).

Hi Celia I did not find your post offensive in any way. I send the intention immediately but do light a candle and send reiki energy and prayers asking for all who requested it on the forum to be included.

Fifteen or more years ago I would have been asking the same question, Celia.
After I developed ME and could do so very little - I was too exhausted - I decided to explore my spirituality. I did a lot of reading and gradually my ideas changed as I realised I have spirit guides and I learned to communicate with them.
Among other things, they taught me that thoughts and particularly intentions are very significant and almost tangible, in that they have an energy of their own - so if I have been asked to send healing for example, I pause to focus on the person concerned and send them it, at that moment. I trust 'the system' to deliver it - but it is up to the recipient to accept it or not as the case may be. Good intention is never wasted - it can be used to increase positivity on the planet. Equally if one has bad thoughts, negative intentions, then this can have unpleasant consequences somewhere. I am always happy to focus on Light, Healing - and Love (which I was told, 'conquers all') for the benefit of whoever needs it. I do not follow any specific religious systems, but work to benefit all on this planet, that is, the whole. It is the most beneficial thing that has happened to me since I had ME.

What a fantastic thread ! And Celia your question was probably the least offensive one ever asked.
It's great to read whaqt everone else has shared, makes me feel a little less bonkers and really grateful to live in a world where there are so many people 'at work' sending out love, light and healing.
Normally if someone asks for help on the forum I just send them a 'wishing you all the best, I believe in you' thought the best way to describe it is like blowing them a kiss but with my thoughts.
Occasionally I wil sit down and send them a half hour of Reiki but this is only if I have had some sort of dialogue with them and feel that they would really benefit from some time out focusing on themselves.
