Let me start this with a caveat please...
This is not intended to offend, undermine, mock or appear even vaguely critical or in any way derogatory to anyone.
I just am curious and wanted to ask so please bear with me?
I am not a formally religious person and at the most could say I hope my behaviour is christian in intent but very definitely with a small c.
I read many posts on here and a lot of them are from people posting with very good intentions and I am sure their posts bring a lot of comfort. But I am curious...
When I read things such as " I will remember / mention you in my prayers" or "Sending / will send you healing/ reiki" etc.... what exactly do the posters do?
Having read so much about the power of intention it made me wonder if people do actually sit down or stop and pray and specifically mention whoever it is, do they stop before hitting the submit button and consciously send reiki or healing energy? Do people have a ritual for end of day or an appropriate time when they carry out these things? Or is it that the intention is all and the specific "act" isn't necessary?
Please don't take offence, it really isn't my intention to cause it but I am just trying to understand a little more of what different people do and how they incorporate what they so obviously believe in, into their everyday life.
Thanks for reading - I look forward to your replies....
oooookaaay..
here goes...
I believe in angels. To me it is not a fanciful notion, but from personal experiences in life I believe in their existence. I am not scholarly, I do not know in great depth what each of the named angels are responsible for. However, I do believe that when I reply to a request for help, prayers etc that it will be recieved by the angels and held as softly as a downy swan feather, or as powerfully as iron girders..
So, I will state to myself, or write out that I asked the angels or Archangel Raphael to help the person and their situation, trust that it is done for the highest good...and let it go. It may only take the seconds of reading, but the few seconds of focus is all that is needed as far as I am concerned.
If I decide to send Reiki, there are methods for sending reiki, which reiki practitioners do.
I too have no religious persuasion, but I may also ask for the God/Goddess to help the person in the best way for them....and let it go.
over and out....
just to add..I would also be intrigued to other replies as I have been wondering about it recently too 🙂
Each day/evening I light candles for those who are in my thoughts, and where I wish for some sort of energy to be sent to, whether it be healing, supportive, or otherwise. If I have a name I will ask God/Goddess to send something their way, if it is a friend of a friend I will ask for "the friend of...". I will only do with knowing that the person who it is intended for has requested/in agreement with it.

No offence taken:).
I used to send Reiki at the same time most nights and send the name of the person/s requesting the energy. Then, a few years ago I found that if I said I would send healing at such and such a time and then for whatever reason couldn't do it I still was getting positive reports back (much to my surprise!).
Now, some may say it's the 'placebo' effect and maybe they are right BUT, I think it is because I had the INTENTION of doing it and that was enough for the energy to 'go'. When I look at this forum my intention is 'set' to send Reiki and I believe that it happens. If I get requests from elsewhere then I sit and focus on them before sending.
Oh, and I have no particular religion either but try to live my life in a way that helps others.
Love and light

Nothing wrong with your post, it looks like it has started the makings of an interesting thread 🙂

Totally agree. Of course, if someone has asked for healing/prayers in this forum, for themselves or for a.n.other, that's quite different from sending to people without their knowledge.
There is, however, also an argument that it's OK because you can add a rider that if they don't want it and at some level reject it, it should go to wherever in the world it's most needed.

Yes, it sure can happen that way. Some years ago, when I had a houseful of dogs and a friend a few miles down the road with a bad back, I recall thinking 'I'll just feed the dogs and then I'll send the Reiki to B. She had asked for it, BTW.
We compared notes afterwards on the timing ... and yes, she received it while I was pouring dog food into bowls 😀
