I send reiki straight away on reading a request for healing. If later in the day/evening I am sending to anyone else, friends or family, then I add them on also. Plus quite often they come to mind later during the week so I send again. I don't have any hardfast rules I stick to, just whatever is appropriate at the time. Like Roselyn I also have a healing box I use. It has an apophoyllite pyramid inside.

Nothing there to take offence at Celia. 🙂

When I say I will send Reiki, it will often depend on my own situation at that time. Sometimes I will just take a few moment to sit and focus my intention and send the Reiki there and then with the intent that it continues flowing for as long as is needed. However, if I'm in a rush, I will ensure I take some time before going to bed to send Reiki to all those who have requested it (even if I haven't replied to them personally).

There is of course, always the belief, that because the intent is there to send Reiki, then that intent in itself will be sufficient, and I do believe that to be true. Thus just intending to send Reiki will let the Reiki flow, even if it was just intended through a message on the forum and forgotten about afterwards. However, it's actually nice to take a little time out and positively send Reiki, so I prefer doing that.

All Love and Reiki Hugs

Dear Celia,

What a very good question.

It is hard to keep two things in your mind/heart at the same time. One of the greatest challenges in life is "being of one mind." For me, prayer for another is really an internal process of coming to that state of an integrated awareness with feelings of compassion, loving kindness and joy. This may start from a wish for the removal of suffering and the causes of suffering, which is compassion to an emotional state of loving kindness, which is a desire for happiness and the causes of happiness to empathic joy, a celebration of the joy of the opening lotus of a being.

Wishing for the removal of suffering is wishing for the removal of obstacles to the unfolding of a persons natural state. The energy of compassion is a removal of obstacles. It is still dualistic (not of "one mind") and primarily functions to transform the individual who holds the emotion. While the energy of mind is dualistic it cannot have much effect outside the being of the person who holds the energy.

Generating loving kindness is still dualistic but it becomes more unbounded as empathic joy with a knowing of the growth of the lotus becomes the only possibility.

How does this work? Ultimately, all is interconnected and all comes forth as it does. Suffering is the mud on which the lotus grows and one day the bud reaches the surface of the lake and it opens. Seeing is believing and seeing is a knowing and knowing is like a stone dropped into a pond.

All comes in it's own time and accepting "what is" lovingly, clears the muddy water as we watch. The light of the morning sun can then penetrate the clear water of the lake and to warm the roots of the lotus, so it grows quickly up to the surface.

Guard the mind for it shapes all things in experience sooner or later. Naturally mind becomes boundless, limitless, with loving-kindness and joy. And this is power.

 Hello Celia,

This is a question im sure many people ponder about, but i can only speak for myself. when i send healing thoughts to anybody as i type it i also visulise the person and i focus my attention to them,
i do this foe approx 5 minutes, sometimes more depending on the illness.
i then write there names down, and i again focus my attention to the people when i meditate and i ask that they are healed,
there are so many ways i think people do it their own way,

take care

Thank you all for your well thought out and interesting responses. You have certainly given me answers to my question and lots of food for thought. I have started doing some more research on-line - at the moment I am looking at Reiki and trying to understand a little more about that and just generally considering the idea of the "intent" which is of interest to me and I hope to find more to read concerning that. I also want to read more about Quantum Touch as, when I was nursing, I read about and then bought the book (no t shirt available!) on Therapeutic Touch that was originally set up for nurses by Dolores Krieger. I have revisited her website and have started reading on there about [DLMURL="http://www.doloreskrieger.com/knowingproject.html"]The Knowing Project[/DLMURL] which some of you may find of interest ....

Any further comments much appreciated but I wanted to post some form of update as I didn't want anyone to feel that I wasn't reading and taking on board your helpful comments.

Thank you again

Take care

Celia
