RE: Penn & Teller on Environmental issues
I see your point, but it can be tough not to fear what you don't really know. Especially when there are major mistakes that got through testing and were assured to be 'safe'. Such mistakes/misinformations like trans fats, lead paint, asbestos, mercury...All amazing discoveries that initially lead to great gains in technology, but eventually lead to great health concerns.
I agree, don't fear what you don't really know. But I don't blame others for their fears 😉
RE: Penn & Teller on Environmental issues
The thing is testing is even more stringent in this day and age because companies are becoming more accountable, and are faced with more potential lawsuits unless they are absolutely sure of their product when it goes to market. They can't afford to get it wrong, basically.
This is another clip (a bit shorter) on how susceptible people can be to signing petitions because of a convincing argument made by the petitioner, rather then taking time to investigate matters for themselves
