It's high time that this story was told on the screen. Forget football or gender, this is for anyone, male or female, and is so moving that - well, it just is. You'd think Bobby Charlton's life-story must come from a novel, but it's actually true. I'm too young myself to have grasped the enormity of what he's lived through. How did he overcome such trauma to go on and win - everything?

On Sunday the BBC dramatised his life around the air disaster of 1958:

That's very well done, with David Tennant, and will only be up on i-player for a couple more days.

But tonight (not yet up on BBC i-player, but it will be by tomorrow), there was a documentary on his life. I found it one of the most moving things I've seen in a long time. Look out for it - by tomorrow. There I was, sitting next to a lady, trying to keep my eyes dry! :p And just about managed it, but goodness, it is so moving. If anyone sees it, you'll see what I mean.

I actually was too young to realise what an utter great he was/is.

These are both worth seeing again, and David Tennant does a great job in the drama.
