'Songs from the Victorious City' - Anne Dudley and Jaz Coleman (TVT Records) is really good - Egyptian influence, fantastic stuff.

Hi all,
I can highly recommendsome Reiki meditation and guided meditation CD's produced by a Reiki Master friend of mine.
The lady used sounds from here garden and her own voice to make up the backing tracks, her name is Celeste, which is a fitting name to match the music that is produced.
The CD's can be found under Celestial sounds on the reikijoy.net web site.

Apologies to all,

Posted a reply to this topic but included a web link, slapped wrists...

Anyway I'll just post the titles...

True Reiki, by a group called Namaste(Pretty good as it has the spoken japanese reiki principals)
Gentle Karma, by Simon Lovelock(Very soothing Asian flavoured)

Once again apologies to the forum for earlier.

Hi there,

I've been asking my case studies what sort of music they like/don't like and it seems the chanting, 'new agey' (their description, not mine), dolphin/bird singing, pan pipes type of music is least favoured.

I've been using Enya, Norah Jones and Moon Safari by Air which are all very relaxing and am looking for suggestions of other easy listening tracks to play. However, I'll certainly listen to Bliss mentioned above.

Thanks
Sx

RE: Recommended music

Hi all, this is my second attempt to leave something here. Because I have my own music site I might have been too evangelical about my collection. However I am interested to understand what type of music do you guys think works particularly with Reiki. As in, what works for you in representing light and energy into music . As a musician I work with what naturally flows within the composition, and when something works it just calls out to me. Perhaps its just about getting into 'the zone' and working with the subconscious with light and energy, letting it call to you, letting it use you to create a piece..

what do you think?

I love Bliss music. I love One hundred thousand angels.I have also just brought the cd that is just called Bliss. There is a song on there called Be who you were born to be. I cannot stop listening to it. It is so good. I can highly recommend it.

:)Hi all

Gregorian chant is very relaxing and spiritual, a lot of the cd meditation music is but cannot remember the people who recorded it but some famous Native American Flute is good. Being a musician and particularly a classical piano player I am looking to write my own. Renaissance music I find very uplifting.

I am really into a certain kind of music - not sure how you would define but soft, chilled out singing guitar music - anything by , dave matthews band, death cab for cutie, and Calexico - some might be appropriate for massage and reike but more so just listening to while relaxing.

I was giving a massage and reiki to my boyfriend the other night and I couldn't find one of my relaxation cds they have all gone walkabout (I'm terrible at putting cds back in cases after use), the most relaxing thing I coudl find on the shelf was a bit of Bob Marley and the Wailers... it worked pretty well though, we were imagining we were on a beahc in Jamaica and bf was nearly asleep by the end of the session!
