Morning All
Just wondered if anyone has seen the film of King Arthur yet?
I went to see it last night and was quite pleased to see a different take on the usual mystic legend of Arthur for the more down to earth historical one, with Arthur as a gritty warrior fighting for Romans and Britons, Merlin as a leader of the Britons complete with woad and Guinevere cast as a post-feminist eco-style warrior! It was well made and the battle scenes were made without computer generated effects making it far more down to earth than, say Troy. The acting I felt let it down though as I rate Clive Owen on the TV but don't think he is a heavyweight yet. He sounded more like a cop than a leader of the Brits!! Some of the action I thought was a bit ponderous but for me, it was good to get away from the legend and concentrate on the "so called" historical facts. Although I question the use of crossbows, mangonels and trebuchets as, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought crossbows were brought over during the 1066 campaign and siege weapons were introduced during the crusades?
What did anyone else think!
Love:)

I really enjoyed this film .. it was very realistic and for british actors i think they did pretty well.
Its easy to follow and i think i actually preferred it to LOTRs.. in some ways, much to my boyfriends disagreement lol..
I would definately recommend seeing it 😀

RE: King Arthur
Although I enjoyed the film (especially Clive Owen who I've always had a bit of a thing for) I thought the story could have gone a lot further.

RE: King Arthur
Thought this film was really bad...I actually felt embarrassed for the actors...in particular Ray Winston who was grossly miscast, screaming something at the top of his head which would be more appropriate in an east end pub! However beautifully shot – in particular the ice scene. If you have to watch, wait till it’s out on DVD...which I am guessing will not be long!
RE: King Arthur
I did like the realistic take to this movie. I am still waiting for a great King Arthur movie to be made though. 😉
